Gray zone: "A situation in which it is not clear whether something is legal or illegal, acceptable or not acceptable, etc." - The Cambridge Dictionary
Our parents think in black and white
But we abide in an eternal gray zone
Where nothing is bad or right
All that belongs is the unknownFriends with interest stay their place
Cross the line and they've gone too far
Tormented by willful emotional craze
Inside their soul is slowly torn apartWe meander the unchartered road
But never go beyond the 'what if'
Silent peaceful glances are our code
Imagination only consoling what isWe are masters of the ambiguous
Holding secrets, acting honorably
Our friendship always conspicuous
While we learn to live tolerablyIn the noble pursuit of dying to oneself
We dismiss the delusional insatiable heart
Allowing logic and sense to govern our realm
Though ending in stalemate, neither can revert
