I'm sorry for the sporadic updates, with finals here I can't seem to find the time that I used to be able to use for writing.
I hope that with finals out of the way next week I can update regularly.-------------------------------
It had been a week sense Kyasha had revealed her heritage and had her period
The whole period experience had been a disaster. And it made the males even more protective, suddenly realizing how vulnerable a female is.
Since then they had bought what the city deems useless rice at an extremely low price. In reality what the family had bought was a whole lot of wheat.
Cyasha had already finished the process of milling some of the kernels, it really is a grueling process.
Unfortunately she also couldn't do all of the kernels at once, after all even flour has an expiration date.
And Kyasha didn't know how much flour they would use.
The milling process involves separating the three component parts of the wheat seed and milling them between rollers.
Before you can even start separating the components you first need to separate kernels from the stalks.
Then after all the milling and setting was done, Kyasha filled huge stone barrels with the flour. She covered them with a wooden pot lid.
Sitting next to her while she was doing this was three men. Muir was working with her on her project.
While Curtis and Winston were busy grinding away making corn oil. It was a simple process, first drying the corn, which they did over a slow fire, making sure not to pop them.
Then you use a screw press to extract the oil. It would be really useful for cooking until they could get vegetable oil.
So far they had made two three by four foot barrels of flour. And over ten five inch by one foot bamboo tubes full of corn oil.
Kyasha then decided that it was best that they take a break. She didn't want to go back to the city just yet, still a little embarrassed.
As a compromise she asked if the men wanted to go on a walk through the forest. They all agreed.
The forest backed up right to their property line, so it didn't take that long for them to get deep into the brush.
It was beautiful, the soft moss and grass lining the forest floor, the tall trees, the blue skies, the big rabbits and birds running around.
The size of this world was really crazy, the average trees were as big as the old growth redwoods back in her last world.
Even the animals were big. The rabbits that would usually only come up to people's ankles, instead they now came up closer to their knees.
It was really impressive to say the least. Kyasha found that it would be beneficial to capture some and bring them back to the house.
They would supply easy meat in the winter, good clean reliable pelts to sell or to use. And they would be really cute pets.
Pulse their poop is very good fertilizer.
So together they rounded up six good size bunnies. Three of them were male and three of them were female.
This way it was easier to counteract the negative effects of inbreeding.
It seemed like it was only the beast men whose population was affected by a decline in females being born.
Muir had been the one to take them back. Kyasha wanted him to stay because she wanted to get to know them but her husbands declined.
They ,including Muir, thought it best that the two strongest stayed with their mate while in the woods.
