One week.

That was how much time you had left before you began combat training. The date had been set in stone by now as you had gotten Akaza's approval from his assessment of your progress. Unfortunately though, over the past month, you still had yet to come up with any solutions to the predicament that was trying to weasel your way out of becoming a demon, but there wasn't really much you could do about it, sadly.

You simply didn't have the time to get hung up on it—there was no room for distractions. If you got sidetracked, you wouldn't be able to focus on your training, and you couldn't afford to fall behind either.

So, in order to keep your mind off of the matter, you put all your attention into your final week of rehab before your official training under Akaza (you would still continue rehab during the day, of course).

"What matter was it that you wished to discuss with me?" The Progenitor looked down upon his subordinate, expectantly awaiting an answer. "You requested an audience of your own accord which is quite rare for you; I assume it must be important, then?"

The demon on the platform below him nodded. "Yes. It is about that human child that has caught your eye." His deep yet steadily calm voice reverberated throughout the Infinity Castle, carrying with it a level of power and authority, even in the presence of his direct superior.

"Oh?" Muzan's blood red eyes narrowed slightly. "And just where exactly did you hear about that?" He was aware of the ridiculous rumors some low-level demons had started spreading, but they were quickly dealt with.

"I am sure my knowledge of the matter is unsurprising, Lord Muzan." At his answer, the Demon King made no move to argue. Yes, it was, in fact, not at all surprising. Even so, he did not expect the demon before him to bring it up before him first, as he had not spoken to anyone but Upper Moon Three about the matter. It was a silent message to all other demons that they were not to look into it or get involved. "Plus, Douma came running to me and going on about an 'audacious brat'."
