The twins had waited a few more hours for any last minute candidates to show up, but in the end, only you and Shiro remained.
It made you a little sad, considering when you first arrived there were well over twenty people, and now that number had been dwindled down to a mere two. But you supposed there wasn't really much you could do about it.
As Kiriya and Kanata gave their speech to the two of you, you kind of tuned them out again since you already knew everything, only coming to when you felt a sudden pressure on your shoulder.
'Oh. My. Goshhhh!' Your eyes sparkled as they landed on your very own Kasugai crow. Looking over at Shiro, you had to hold in a laugh when you saw a cute little hummingbird land on his head instead of a crow. 'Pfft—! Help, that's so adorable!! It's even smaller than Zenitsu's sparrow!' The boy seemed a little upset at his Kasugai "crow," but didn't seem to have the courage to voice any complaints.
Once that was done and over with, it was time to pick out the ore for your Nichirin Sword. Both you and Shiro stepped forward, examining all of the ores that were laid out on the table in front of you. 'Which one should I pick...?' It had to be one that resonated with you, but so far, none of them called out to you.
That was, until your eyes landed on a piece of ore in the corner. Through your eyes, it looked much purer and clearer compared to the others, and the way the sun reflected off of it reminded you of the way the sun reflects off of glass, creating a rainbow-like hue.
Shiro watched as you went first, picking up the ore that you wanted before going to get the measurements for your uniform taken. He hesitated, brows furrowing as he struggled to find an ore that he liked, but eventually found one that felt right and joined you.
Now that Final Selection was finished, you were an official member of the Demon Slayer Corps!! That meant you had successfully proven yourself to Urokodaki! You were excited to get back, only stopping when Shiro called out to you. Oh, right. You nearly forgot about him... oops.
"Hey, um! Would you maybe want to keep in touch?" He asked you shyly, rubbing his hands together nervously, to which you smiled and nodded.
"Sure! It'll be nice to have someone familiar to talk with! Hopefully we can even go on missions together!"
