Mae was right. She hadn't heard the end of it about her name. Clarisse found her name absolutely hilarious and wouldn't stop teasing her about it.

"Maevelyn? Your name is-" Mae cut her off and glared at her. "Yes. My full name is Maevelyn Marie Byron. I just say my name is Maeve cause who the fuck names their kid Maevelyn?" She gags.

Clarisse laughed. Actually laughed.

Mae smiled widely as she looked at her. She had made big bad Clarisse La Rue laugh. Clarisse noticed that she was touching her and pushed her away.

"Stop looking at me like that. It's gross." She said as she looked away from her. The two of them sat on a bed at the front of the truck while they talked. She wasn't sure where Gaige was but she didn't care at all either. She was enjoying Clarisse's company.

"Tell me about yourself. And don't interrupt me. We still have weeks left of this and I don't know shit about you." She pointed out. Clarisse sighed.

She knew that she had a point but Clarisse was nervous about letting Mae in. Maybe she could tell her some things...

"I'm sixteen, like you. My birthday is July 23rd, I'm a chocolate girl, I have a bunny at my mom's named spot, I'm allergic to pineapple, and I'm lesbian too." She shrugs.

Mae grins widely. Clarisse picks up on that and rolls her eyes, shaking her head while she glared at her.

"You are?" She asked as she furrowed her eyebrows. Clarisse rolled her eyes and pushed the girls head away from her.

"Yes. Don't mention it or else I'll kill you in your sleep."

Mae laughed loudly at that. Leave it to Clarisse to threaten Mae in a moment like this.

Mae rolled her eyes and shook her head while she looked at Clarisse. Ever since they had left the museum, Mae had been thinking about what her mother said. Mae wasn't shocked at all that her mom knew about whatever was going on between her and Clarisse, she was the goddess of love after all.

She was shocked that neither her or Clarisse had denied it. And she was shocked that it will her mom pointing it out is what it took for her to realize that she had a crush on Clarisse.

Gods was that absolutely embarrassing or not?

Mae wasn't embarrassed about having a crush on her per se but it was embarrassing as hell that her mom called her out about it.

"How old were you when you came out?" Clarisse suddenly asked her. Mae looked at Clarisse and inhaled deeply. "Thirteen. I was young but I knew I didn't like men. I can't explain it but I knew that I couldn't see myself with a man." She shrugged. Clarisse nodded while she listened. She understood what she meant.

"I was thirteen too. I had been dragged into a spin the bottle game and kissed a guy and it was just not my thing. Next round it was a girl and she landed on me and I knew that that was what I liked." Clarisse explained.

Mae smiled as something suddenly fell from seemingly out of nowhere, landing directly in her lap.

Mae made a confused face as she grabbed it.

It was a charm bracelet with two charms on it. One was a charm of a building that she assumed was supposed to represent the Museum. The other was a heart charm and inside of it was a mother holding a baby. Mae held it straight to look at it better and suddenly it was a knife. Mae's eyes widened as she looked at Clarisse.

"Your mom sent you gift. Put the handle on your wrist, see if it'll change back to normal." Clarisse said. Mae nodded as she did just that and it was a bracelet that was snug on her wrist.

"Woah."
