A/N - Sorry this is a day later than I said it would be. Shoot me, I am a horrible person. Basically, this chapter is really short (sorry!) and I am going to re-read and plan and stuff before I post the next part, which will be up soon. I thought I should at least write something, even if it isn't much. Sorry guys!
For a moment, Draco stared into Hermione's eyes, lost in a forgotten abyss. A half smile planted itself on his face as she looked up at him from underneath her eyelashes. This moment passed quickly as he took a step backwards, suddenly very weary.
'I...um...' He stuttered in a complete loss for words.
'Wow' Hermione said. 'Never in my life did I ever think that Draco Malfoy could ever possibly be speechless.' A full grin spread across her face as she fought laughter. In a matter of seconds, Draco's guard was back up again.
'I'm glad you find me amusing.' He mused.
They stood in silence, until Hermione yawned, breaking the quiet.
'You should go to sleep.' Draco said. 'We have class tomorrow.' Hermione nodded in response. 'Goodnight Draco.' Hermione turned and left his room, closing the door softy behind her. As soon as she got into bed and her head hit the pillow, she fell into a deep slumber. For the first night in many, she did not dream. Hermione only slept peacefully until she woke the next morning.
'Why so smug?' Ginny asked as Hermione sat down the next morning at breakfast.
'What?' Hermione asked off guard. 'No reason.' She lied.
'Nothing to do with Draco Malfoy then?' Ginny questioned again. The answer was clear when Hermione's cheeks turned pink. 'What happened?!' She exclaimed with excitement.
They were interrupted when Harry and Ron took their seats at the tables, opposite them. Hermione turned and gave Ginny a glare that said say nothing. Ginny nodded and the corner of her mouth twitched in amusement.
A/N - I am going to continue right where this one left off as soon as I plan it all out. Thanks for bearing with me!
