Hermione walked briskly to Diagon alley. The October breeze brushed against her exposed neck and she regretted not bringing a scarf. Clouds loomed in the sky above, threatening her with downpour at any give moment. However, the threat of rain id not both her as she made it to a quiet corner and disapparated to her parent's home in London.

Hermione was both anxious and exited as she approached the white front door of what used to be her home. Maybe it could be again. Hermione could see movement behind the foggy glass, telling her that her parents were home. Her heart almost jumped out of her mouth but she reached for the door handle. It was locked. She took out her wand.

'Alohomora' she said, almost in a whisper. Her hand shook as she let herself inside. Her parents were stood in the kitchen of their home, both had their backs facing her, not hearing her come in. With a deep breath Hermione let the past few years disappear with one word.

'Hermione' both her parents said it at the same time, as if testing the unfamiliar word for the very first time they both looked at each other.

'Mum, dad' Hermione said, her voice as quiet as a mouse. Her mother and father turned to look at her and immediately got up to embrace her.

'I don't understand' her mother stated. A confused expression envelloped her face, and that same expression was mirrored in her father.

Hermione spent the next few hours explaining all of the events of the past two years, drawing emphasis on their search for the horcruxes and the battle of Hogwarts. By the time she was finished, she was reduced to tears. Though at first her parents were angry that they couldn't be with her, they had understood why she had made them forget. It was too dangerous. They sat together for a long time that night, not really even speaking. It was enough just to be with each other.
