🔎Crystal's POV📘

"Um hey, guys" the guy behind us calls out to Ben and me and we turn to him. "Since we're out here you don't mind if we ditch you guys to have some fun?" the guy says wrapping an arm around his girl's waist.

Before I can say a word Ben cuts in "Of course not, you two have fun. It's supposed to be a group of 4s but I think that it might be better this way." my eyes widen and I quickly ransack my brain to say something, anything to keep the couple with us even though they were annoying. Having them around was way better than spending time alone with Ben.

I was beaten to the punch again "Thanks, dude" the guy says, giving Ben a fist bump and then dragging his girl away to somewhere only God knows. I glare at Ben and start to move forward, I don't care if this is a scavenger hunt, I'd rather he eat my dust at this moment.

An arm snakes around my shoulder and drags me back a little. The air leaves my lungs in a swoop as my back hits his chest. I look up and see Ben's smug smile and I want to wipe it right off his handsome face.

"What?" he says and shrugs

"I'd rather be alone with you than have more annoying company," he says.

The butterflies in my stomach started fluttering around the box trying to make an escape, before I shut the lid back again and this time used chains to tie the box. Voilá try escaping that you damn butterflies.

"You're the annoying one," I say and shrug his arm off of me. His smile didn't even budge as he took out the map and started looking for our next destination.

If only... My mind wanders off as he keeps checking. We had just had heaven on earth at the restaurant and we all had a little break before the teacher decided that the bus trip and everything else we went through wasn't enough of an exercise goal. Our gym teacher decided that a nice scavenger hunt would be nice and to make matters worse our civics teacher, with her mischievous evil grin, decided that it would be more entertaining (for the teachers anyway) if it were groups of 4, or in her words, a double date. At those words, my heart both plummeted and jumped, is that even possible?

Anywho I thought everything would work out fine. I mean, I did get my favorite number five as they passed a bucket filled with numbers for the dates. Everyone stood in and started going to their group. My eyes landed on a girl who was waving the number five around. Sure enough, she was part of my date group so I went up to her. She was friendly and seemed excited to see a girl was going to be with her but all that changed when she noticed her boyfriend coming towards her, waving the same paper that had our number on it. She squealed and my smile slowly fell, I definitely didn't want to be the third wheel in their sweet moment, even if the guy was also nice to me.

I silently prayed that the fourth person in our group would be a girl or even one of my friends. That prayer died so fast when I saw Laura, Edward, Nora, and Lucas all huddled up together in a group looking at the map as they made their way out of the restaurant, and in their place, a smirking Ben walked toward me. His bright smile made his presence known as he raised the paper with the same number. Oh for the love of Henrietta!

"Ok, so we have to head to the park first" Ben words, bringing me back to the present. a small blush crept on my cheek as his eyes landed on me. He could tell my mind was elsewhere by his knowing smile as he took my hand and started leading us to a bus station, at least the teachers didn't say anything about not taking the bus.

The bus soon arrived and it was full of people, I almost thought that it would be impossible to find a spot as the chairs were all taken. We eventually move to a corner where baby carriages are held and stand there. The movement of the bus rattled us around like a baby raddling a toy. Soon my back hits the window and Ben nearly lands on me, his hand quickly lands on the window, caging me at the same time, for support. I small gasp leaves my lips as he's way too close for comfort. His icy blue eyes are keeping me frozen to the spot, his words aren't even needed as his eyes tell me to stay still.
