Nick & Charlie go and watch Harry Styles in concert
Darling, I promise you. You've never looked better."
"That's a lie," Nick says with a scowl. "I look really out of place."
"Nobody looks out of place at a Harry Styles concert," Charlie insists, which is easy to say because he looks so effortlessly cool and beautiful that Nick feels hopelessly inadequate next to him, and they've not even left the hotel room yet.Together with Polly, he'd managed to crochet and stitch together one of Harry's iconic cardigans, and even though his outfit underneath is just a plain white fitted t-shirt tucked into black jeans, he looks so perfectly in place that Nick can't stop looking at him.
He, on the other hand, looks like... well, a tag-along boyfriend. He's wearing a t-shirt that Charlie found for him on Etsy ("I can't afford to buy you real Harry merch if you're only going to wear it once, love") over his regular jeans and Adidas trainers, and for some reason Charlie's also bought him a feather boa and a heart-shaped sunglasses that make him look... well, like a fucking idiot, if he does say so himself.
He sighs. "Charlie, are you sure..."
"Yes, babe." Charlie doesn't even look up from where he's applying glitter to his cheeks. "I'm sure."
Nick sighs again. "Okay, as long as you're sure."Charlie drops the tube of eyelash glue (on loan to him from Polly, of course) and leans back to admire his handiwork. There's a mix of silver and blue glitter smeared along his cheekbones and there's a gloss painted on his lips. Each of his nails have been painted a different colour too (also courtesy of Polly) and there's a pearl necklace looped around his neck too.
He looks perfect . Nick can't stop staring.
" God , you're pretty."
Charlie beams at him through the mirror, reaching an arm behind him and making a grabby hand for Nick, who stands up and crosses the hotel room in three long strides before he wraps his arms around Charlie's shoulders, pressing several kisses into his freshly washed hair.
"Pretty, pretty, pretty."
"How many tinnies have you had?" Charlie giggles, pressing his own lips into Nick's wrist. "You're pretty too. Pretty drunk. "
"I'm not drunk," Nick protests. "I'm happy. I can feel the excitement radiating off of you and that makes me happy. And you're looking pretty fucking beautiful tonight too."
Charlie grins even wider and leans back into Nick's chest. "That's fucking gay, Nick."
"Well, excuse me for being gay with my boyfriend," Nick tuts.He kisses Charlie's hair again before he moves back over to the bed and picks up his can of beer from the bedside table, draining its contents. He flat out refuses to pay stadium prices if he can get cans for a quarter of the price to drink beforehand.
He reaches for his charging phone and sees there's two messages on there, both within the group entitled HARRY FUCKIN' STYLES BITCHES, a chat that Kate had made with pure delight on the day that Nick had somehow managed to secure four tickets without even trying. Both messages are from Holly, the fourth member of their party, telling them that they're aiming to be ready in the next twenty minutes or so, and please can they borrow the eyelash glue as Kate has forgotten hers.
"Want me to run that down to them?" Nick offers after he's read the messages aloud. "Are you almost ready?"
Charlie stares at his reflection and ponders for a second. "Give me ten minutes?" He turns around and hands Nick the eyelash glue. "Do you mind running this down to Kate?"
"Not at all." Nick hops to his feet and gives Charlie a quick peck on the top of his head before he skips down the corridor to Holly and Kate's room. They're only three doors down, and when he taps his knuckles against the door, it's answered almost immediately by a frazzled looking Kate.
"You got the lash glue?" she says by way of greeting.
"Yep." Nick holds it out to her and she snatches it. "You look beautiful as well, by the way."
She levels him with a curious look as he follows her into the room. "What do you mean 'as well'?"
