I trail behind Caroline, quietly examining her. She's been acting a little... too normal since the Founder's Party. As if it had never happened.

When I attempted to ask her about the marks, she'd just brush it off or change the subject. It was really starting to irritate me.

At home, I overheard Elena talking about Damon. That he had like, vanished. When I heard that, I got home and had a mini dance party to celebrate. Neither Caroline nor I had seen him.

As we walked down the hallway, I had to listen to Caroline drone on and on about some fundraiser she was hosting. I was doing it with her, but I don't think she even knew.

"The sexy suds car wash is tomorrow, Angelina. The football team and the band have committed. Well, not all the band. Just the ones who could actually pull off a bikini." She grimaced slightly. "I want in your face sexy. I mean, it's a fundraiser for god's sake!"

"I know, Caroline." I said. "I have the perfect bikini though!" She looks at me impressed.

"I knew you would." She smiled.

I was sort of lost in my thoughts as we turned the corner. Thinking about why I decided to help give flyers to, in Caroline's words, all the hot people.

"Caroline, isn't this a bit mean?" I asked after she smacked my hand from giving a girl a flyer. Caroline sighed.

"Angelina, you need to learn how to choose the lions from the gazelles. I mean't sexy, not--" She pauses, trying to think of the word.

"Yeah, I'm just gonna go, okay?" I smile at her, walking ahead.

I didn't get very far before she grabbed my wrist and guided me in a different direction.

"Stefan!" She calls as we walk towards Stefan and Elena. They looked very deep in conversation but Caroline didn't give a damn, of course.

"Where's Damon? He has some serious apologising to do." She smiled.

I glanced at her awkwardly. Why was she asking about him all of a sudden? She hadn't spoken his name in forever.

"He's gone, Caroline. He's not coming back. I'm sorry." With that, Stefan leaves. My eyes stayed on him for a few seconds before turning to see Elena comforting Caroline.

I lay in bed, tracing my fingers over the dusty glass of the family photo we took ages ago. I found it calming to look at. Reminding me that there was a time we were actually a family.

I took a deep breath before I heard a small knock on my door. I hid the picture in my bedside drawer, and I quickly opened my laptop.

"Come in."

Jeremy stood there with a smile on his face, for once. I sat up from the bed as he leaned on the doorway.

"You okay?" He asked.

I nodded rather quickly. "Is Vicki here?" I asked, already knowing the answer. I heard them both talking and laughing with each other an hour ago.

"Don't answer a question with another question," Jeremy replied. I smiled, he looks really happy now. He must really like Vicki if she had this kind of effect on him. I was glad to see this new side of him.

"What's wrong with you?" He asks again, crossing his arms over his chest.

I shake my head. "Nothing. I'm fine." I lied. I was in fact not fine since I had been dragged into a vampire situation.

I mean, one of my best friends is a witch. I brush away some hair on my face. I think Jeremy wasn't falling for my lie in the slightest. Either that, or he was just blatantly ignoring the fact that I lied to his face.
