It's the next day. Well, night. I was working on a painting until I heard a knock at my door. I was surprised when I opened it to see Elena standing there.
She invited me to the sleepover the girls and her were having downstairs. I accepted the invitation, seeing that Elena out of all people asked me.
Honestly Elena had been starting, but very slowly, warming up to me since Vicki's death. But I was still a bit skeptical for reasons to get close to her. Maybe in the future I can let go of all my grudges against her.
But for now, my feelings weren't gonna change anytime soon.
I am helping Caroline and Elena dish out our dinner as Bonnie walks into the kitchen. I smile and wave to her but she just flashes a small smile at me. It's dead silent in the kitchen. I could feel the awkward tension as Caroline glared at Bonnie.
Caroline just went back to sorting out all the food. Elena gives me a look and I elbow Caroline. She frowns at me as I nudge my head towards Bonnie. Caroline turns to her in a huff.
"I'm sorry. There. I said it. If you want the ugly-ass necklace, keep it. It's yours."
Bonnie's eyes widen slightly. "Will you hate me if I tell you I threw it away?"
"You threw it away?!" Caroline exclaimed.
"I know it sounds crazy, but the necklace was giving me nightmares."
Caroline sighed. "You could have just given it back to me."
"Why? So you could give it back to Damon?" Elena asked. Caroline sarcastically gasps.
"If Damon still wanted it, why would he give it to you Caroline?" I questioned.
She shrugged. "I don't know." She crosses her eyebrows.
Did he tell her, but then compel her to forget everything he told her? I frowned.
"You know what? Screw Damon. Are we doing manicures or what? Who has their kit?" Caroline looks at us all.
"Mine's in my bag." Bonnie said.
Caroline walks over to her bag. I pull myself up and sit on the counter, swaying my feet. I sighed, subconsciously looking at my nails.
"So, Elena. How long do you think this fight with Stefan will last? Is it like a permanent thing?"
"I don't know, Caroline."
I heard Caroline laugh and look up as she turned around with Bonnie's necklace in her hand. "Why are you such a little liar, Bonnie?" she called.
She looks at the two for an explanation. She throws the necklace onto the counter. I stay half quiet as I eat popcorn, watching them.
"I'm not lying Caroline!"
"It's true. I watched her throw it into a field." Elena defends.
"Well then explain it."
"Emily."
My posture perks up. "Emily?" I asked, all eyes turning to me.
"Who's Emily?" Caroline and I ask at the same time. We glance at each other.
"The ghost."
"Oh, the ghost has a name now?" Caroline sarcastically motions.
"Wait, what are you guys talking about? Elena?" I asked, looking at her for an answer. Ghosts? Why am I not shocked at all? Well, I know vampires and witches exist, but what else?
I still felt like there was more to this than they were letting on.
"Why won't she leave me alone?" Bonnie asked Elena.
