03 : HUNGRY

Hunger was becoming a familiar friend of Odette's, it brought her pain and discomfort, but it showed her she was still human... even if it was partially. She whined in pain as she gripped her stomach, quickly moving her body into the fetal position. She opened her eyes to be met with darkness, no trees, no people, just the night sky. She sat up, keeping her hand on her stomach, before looking around, she needed food.

"Here." The curly haired boy had shown up with a plate with sandwiches on top, "it's just ham, I'm not sure what you like."

Odette looked at the boy with curiosity, "what happened? I don't remember anything," she took the plate, pushing past the bread and vegetables and eating only the ham, though she quickly spat it out.

"I cut you completely in half. How are you alive?" He sat next to her, getting in her face. "What is wrong with you?" Odette gasped as she realized, she broke rule two (don't show her abilities!). She frantically looked around, going to stand up before falling. "Calm down, you're acting like a deer, is that what you are? Half deer?"

Odette shook her head, "I'm sorry, sir, I really have to go," she whined before hunching over in pain, she needs to go to Louis and Jakob immediately. She looked up at the boy, "I'm so hungry."

"What do you need? I'll get it for you," he crawled closer to where she had fallen. "Please, just tell me," he whispered.

Odette pouted before going closer to him, she brought up her hand to his neck, scratching it briefly before bringing her face to it — this action made the boy blush a bright pink, what was she doing? He immediately felt a sharp pain, like a needle going into his neck, he let out a pained gasp. He tried fighting her off, pushing and pulling, before he eventually found peace in the bite, like something he knew he wasn't supposed to have. When Odette pulled away, the bruise on his neck was a bright purple, and ironic enough, shaped like a normal bite mark. The only difference was the presence of two tiny punctures, the mark of elongated and sharp vampire teeth. He brought his hand up to where she had bitten and sucked, his blush still ever so present, he didn't realize what had just happened.

Odette on the other hand, was living in ecstasy. He tasted like the missing pieces to her life, she wanted another bite. He was just a boy, she couldn't — but she wanted to so bad. A whine left her throat and she rested her head on his neck, the smell bringing her down from the high.

"What are you?" He spat out, pushing her off of him before scooting away. A look of confusion and disgust on his face.

"I'm sorry!" She had started crying, red liquid spilling from her eyes, "I'm such a monster, please leave me!" She went to leave before he grabbed her wrist, stopping her.

"I'm Luke."

"I'm... Odette," she wiped her eyes with her sleeve, staining her white dress with red. "Please don't kill me."

"You're not a half blood, are you?"

She shook her head, "I don't even know what that is. I'm a vampire." She bit her lip hesitantly, she would need to despose of him if anything happened, how would she do that? "I need to eat to survive and I'm tired of eating deer and mice."

Luke nodded, "can you be in the sun? I've heard people like you can't be." When odette shook her head, he sighed, "can we meet up again? Tomorrow night? I've never met a vampire before."

She nodded, looking at the sky that was turning a beautiful light blue, she missed the daylight so much. But she ultimately left before she had a chance to see anything more.
