05 : NO MORE

Odette's lip bled as she bit down, her teeth starting to become red. She stood incased in the darkness of the trees, anxiously walking back and forth as she waited for the boy. She can hear him on his way, she had learned what his footsteps sounded like already; gentle, as if he was creeping up on a deer in order to hunt and kill to eat for dinner.

"Where were you? You didn't come!" He complained as his arms were crossed, unlike Odette, he stood in the daylight, the sun hitting his skin, faintly showing his freckles.

"You're lucky I came now," she looked to the side and saw the sun setting, she hesitantly reached her hand out to catch the sunlight before putting it back when the sub burned her skin. "I woke up early before my.... Dads.... So that I can be here. Look, something weird is going on."

"What is it?" He walked closer to her so he can hide in the shade, but she pushed him back so he had to stay.

"I ate your face last night."

"Huh?!"

Odette closed her eyes, "in my dream! I ate your face! I sucked your blood and then all of a sudden I ate your face!" She put her hands on her face and frowned. "It's a sign! From the universe! From Selene! I can't be here."

Luke grabbed her hand, "don't say that, don't listen to her. It was just a dumb nightmare, you shouldn't have to worry," he hugged her, pressing her against a tree as he rested his head in the crook of her neck.

The vampire pushed him off, "I can't, she's calling me. If I stay too close to you, you'll get hurt. I've come to say goodbye."

Luke shook his head before placing his hand on her cheek, "you can leave if you must, but I'll never be the same without you."

"Please! You've known me for two days!"

"It feels like I've known you for lifetimes!"

"Luke? Who are you talking to?" Luke quickly stepped to the side, a hand over Odette's mouth as he looked at his friend. "I'm just talking to myself, Anny, what are you doing?"

"We're going to visit Thalia today, remember? Its our picnics?"  

"I remember— can you start walking and I'll meet you there?" He asked, he pouted to convince the younger girl. "Please?"

She scoffed and shook her head, "If you're not there in ten minutes, I'll find you." Luke watched as she walked off, in her hand was a big picnic basket and a blanket in the other.

"I think she's gone," he mumbled, before Odette shoved his hand off of her.

"I need to leave." She mumbled, "this was too close, I almost got caught!"

"But you didn't!" He replied, he went on his knees and grabbed her hand, "please come back at least."

"You shouldn't be surprised when you come and I'm not here tomorrow," she pulled her hand back,"you're being rather melodramatic." She stepped from him and bid her goodbyes, leaving to her house before Louis and Jakob can wake.
