"I can help you become more human," is what Odette heard as soon as she arrived behind the tree. "Also, what took you so long? I've been here for three hours." Luke was sat in the now-rising sun.

"My dads finally went to sleep, we've had this talk many times, they can't know that I'm here," she sat parallel to him in the shade. The idea that Jakob and Louis finding out that she went against their vampire rules drive her crazy. "What do you mean you can help me be more human?"

"I can remind you what humans do, I've been around long enough to know. I can even give you a taste of camp life! Look, here!" Luke handed her Annabeths invisibility hat, he had swiped it from her when she wasn't looking for this occasion.

"You want to give me a hat?" She asked, "an ugly hat?" Odette took it and examined it.

Luke nodded, "put it on." She bit her lip as she did what he said, watching as the hairs that laid corner of her eyes become invisible. Her shock coming out in a gasp while holding on to Luke's hand in fear. He only let out a laugh and stood, pulling her along as he walked around the camp only stopping at the pegasus stalls.

She watched as Luke pulled her into an empty stall, pulling the hat off. "What is this?"

Odette nodded, watching as Luke looked around before turning back to her. "It's where we keep the horses, they're all being used right now so we're safe."

"I wish I had horses, now that I live with my dads I only see deer, most of the time they're dead. I wish I had a dog! I need a poodle, you kinda look like one," she placed her fingers in his hair, curling an already curled piece.

"I think you're more of one, honey, but it's fine," he winked at her. Odette whined as she felt the blood rushing to her cheeks, she took her hand out of his hair and turned, covering her face. "Come on, don't be like that, I miss your pretty face."

She turned against her will and glared, "you're not supposed to be flirting with me, you barely know me."

"But I would like to know you," he smiled, stepping closer to her and placing his hands on her waist and bringing her close. Once again, his head met her neck as he took a deep breath in, engulfing her sent. "Do vampires always smell like vanilla?"

"Only the ones that want to smell good," she joked, "I still use perfume. My life hasn't changed much from before," her eyes wondered away, thinking of her life before she was turned into a vampire, only to be met with her stomach growling.

Luke looked up and pulled his colar while tilting his head to the side, "you hungry?" She nodded and leaned in, digging her teeth into him.

Once again, the sweet taste of him entered her mouth and down her stomach, a hand placed on the side of his neck to allow her be comfortable.
Before she could even finish, she heard footsteps and ran, leaving to who knows where because in the blink of an eye, Luke was alone with a bloody neck.

"Hey man, what are you doing here?" A councilor, Charles Beckendorf, the Son of Hephaestus, entered. "Are you okay?" He sped walked to the boy, "what's on your neck?"

Only now did Luke think about the after of him volunteering his blood, the dark purple bruise that stays for days and the bleeding that happens for hours.

"I'm fine, man."
