Surprise
Sivaangi's eyes twinkled as she watched the blueberry pie she prepared getting baked in the oven. With a satisfied sigh, she straightened herself and looked at the messy kitchen counter.
Not wanting to greet the man she loves with a messy kitchen, which she knows would put him off the mood, Sivaangi quickly start cleaning the kitchen island. She picked the saucepan that still had leftover blueberry puree she prepared.
Sivaangi had already sterilized a glass jar. She transferred the blueberry puree into the glass jar and kept it aside. Licking the puree off the ladle, she walked to the sink and put the now almost clean ladle in the sink.
Humming a song, Sivaangi removed her apron and stretched herself. With her hands on her hips, she looked at the clean kitchen. With a satisfied smile, she walked inside the room, took her clothes and showered. Cooking for two hours straight had her limbs aching and she definitely needed the hot shower.
Dressed in fresh clothes, Sivaangi brushed her hair, applied her kajal and lip balm. Air kissing at her reflecting on the mirror, she settled down on the couch in the living room. She arched her back and looked outside through the balcony attached to the living room. The sun has already set down. He will be home soon; The very thought put a smile on her lips.
Playing a random Spotify playlist on her TV, Sivaangi scrolled down her Instagram. She was lost in the social media app when she heard the oven's dig. She hopped her way to the kitchen, put on her glove and then took out the pie.
Taking a sniff at the baked goodness, Sivaangi's smile widened. Ever since she learned cooking, she's overjoyed whenever her dishes turn out great. All thanks to the broken glass bowls and the pans she has set on fire in the past, these victories sure feel bloody sweet.
Quickly platting the desserts, Sivaangi checked the dining table once and went inside the bedroom before she walking to the couch. Her mobile buzzed with the call from the security guard downstairs. She asked him to let her know if her man has entered the apartment premises and he has.
Switching off the TV, Sivaangi quickly walked inside the kitchen, grabbed a bowl she has kept on the kitchen island and walked to the mirror. Dipping her finger in the melted chocolate, she smeared the milk chocolate in the corner of her lips and a stroke in her cheek.
Sivaangi would claim it to be an accident if she was ever asked why there's drops of milk chocolate in her neck. Satisfied with her art, she licked the chocolate on her finger and placed the bowl back on the kitchen island.
With long strides Sivaangi rushed to the main door and peeked through the door hole. Just as she saw her man in front of the apartment door, she composed herself and stood with a bright smile and open arms.
The door opened and a male shoe stepped inside the apartment but halted on its track the next moment when his eyes fell on the woman in front of him; the woman whom he loves with all his heart and soul.
"Sivaangi?!"
"Ashwineyy!" Sivaangi chirped at her half smiling and half confused fiancé.
Shaking out of his initial shock and closing the door behind him, Ashwin stepped in and took Sivaangi in his embrace. She giggled when her legs dangled in the air as he hugged her to himself mumbling numerous 'missed you' while she breathed in his presence.
"Nee vara inum rendu naal iruke. Work vegama mudincha? Epo ma vandha?"
"Velai mudinjadhum unta oodi vanten Ashwineyy" Sivaangi sing sang as she traced her fingers down his nape.
