Found two poems that were hiding in the dredges of my schoolwork so yay this book is alive now

Hard to say
When you're born in a place
That might as well be at war
With your parents' homeland
In yourself
When the words fill your ear
Stories of national brainwashing are hard to hear
But harder still when the victims are people you've met
When we fall
When the bomb gets dropped
When we crash in the path of total devastation
Would my friends cheer for my death?
Midnight fears
Memories of 1944
When the Japanese were locked away for their brethren's crimes
Would the same happen here? Now?
Will we be blamed
Should we be blamed
When we don't know where to stand?

Aka: the identity crisis of a second-generation immigrant :D
