Chapter 54
Gasping awake from my dream, I look around the room and realize that I am safe and sound in my own bed. A fire roars in my fireplace, dimly lighting the room and keeping it warm and my body feels so sore and weak.
"Allisara?" I shiver at the sound of his deep voice, my head turning towards my bedroom door. There Sky stands, his emerald eyes locked onto my violet ones.
"Hi." I croak out, tears falling down my face. He rushes to my side, pulling me into his arms as soon as he sits on the edge of the bed and I begin to sob. How did I forget him?
"What's wrong? are you hurting?" He asks, rubbing my back and doing his best to soothe me.
"I'm sorry I forgot about you." I sob out, my arms snaking around his neck. He pulls away in shock, his eyes wide as his hands move to cup my face.
"You...you remember me?" He whispers, his own tears falling from his face.
"Yes!" I manage to say before his lips slam against mine, claiming them in a heated kiss. I melt into his embrace, parting my lips as his tongue dives into mine, claiming me. I moan, my body heating just from the kiss alone.
"I wish it was you I was marrying."
"Me too Allisara. Me too."
Those words echo in my mind as I kiss Sky just as passionately as he kisses me. I was in love with my best friend. The one that promised to always find me no matter where I am. The one who protected me and held me when I needed to cry. Sky was the one always there for me.
The kiss ends all to soon, leaving me gasping for breath as Sky reaches for something on my bedside table, holding a glass full of water out.
"Drink, you've been asleep for three days." He whispers, his own eyes filled with emotions. I comply, drinking all of it and asking for more. He refills the glass, telling me to take it easy on the water before calling someone on his phone, letting them know I am awake and to bring me some porridge.
"It will take a while for the porridge to get here, do you want to shower?" He asks after I finish my third glass of water.
"No, I just want to cuddle and hear what happened after I was kidnapped." I answer, taking his hand in mine. Sky smiles and kicks off his shoes before climbing in beside me. His arms wrap around me, pulling me tightly against him.
"Do you want to tell me what you remember first?" He asks instead, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
"Where do you want to start?"
"The night of the ball, you said three dances." He carefully pulls the blanket around us and I start explaining what happened with Cedirc, how he came to find a girlfriend and fall in love. Sky laughs, cutting me off and explaining that I had punch Cedric in the nose but hadn't broken it. I feel a little bad about this, realizing Cedric was trying to protect me.
"I wanted to introduce him to my cousin Annalise since she has given up on falling in love after her fiancé cheated on her." I admit, shrugging. Sky laughs again, brushing his fingers through my hair.
"Why does that not surprise me." I shrug, giving myself a mental reminder to apologize to Cedric and invite him to the Blanchard estate to meet my cousin.
"Also, there is no need in setting them up. Annalise helped Cedric with his bloodied nose and those and have already gone on their first date. Your uncle told me this yesterday." Shocked, I pull away from Sky before I burst out laughing. I know Annalise had gone to medical school out of boredom from the talk we had and to know that she had come to Cedric's rescue makes this even better. I guess I did end up introducing her to him in a way.
