Principal Evans's POV
"You can drop me off here," the girl sitting in the passenger seat of my car said out of nowhere. I pulled over the car and turned to her. Asking for approval if this is indeed where she lives.
"Is this where you live?" I asked looking around the area. There's not much houses, not to mention how shady and dangerous this area looks like.
Dawn stepped out of the car and I immediately followed her outside. "No. But it's not like I'm going tell you where I actually live in the first place," she admitted, glaring at me. This girl is really full of mystery.
"Wait!" I called taking out a piece of paper and pen from my car compartment and quickly wrote something before handing it to her. "I know you won't be needing this but I still want you to have it. You can always come to me whenever you need help."
"You're really giving me your address? Such admirable consideration." she shook her head and began to walk away. Well, she's more like limping rather than walking. I seriously had to control the urge to ran up to her and help her but I know she wouldn't like that. I was lucky enough to have helped her a while ago. I stood and waited there until she was no longer in sight.
I feel like I haven't made any progress at all. I thought my method of approach was enough to make her open up to me but it appears to have only made her stay away from me. These past few days I tried everything to become closer to her, only to fail miserably. I want to give up, thinking maybe it's not worth it but deep down I know I can't just abandon her.
I remembered the time we met in the mall. It was easy for me to spot her since she always wears baggy clothes which I don't know the reason why. Maybe because she's comfortable in that kind of clothing. While sitting on a bench I noticed the look she has while she stares at every shop, it's the look of a girl who wants something yet somehow can't have it. Despite knowing how she'll react once she sees me, I still approached her and as expected she was rude as ever. But I still tried my best not to get angry with her behavior since I know there's a reason why she's being hostile. Though there were words she said that somehow hurt me. That's when she said that I shouldn't worry about her, like I can even do that.
But the pain was momentarily forgotten when 2 young women appeared, who are obviously twins. They both have bright green eyes, black shoulder length hair but one of them has bangs and is also taller than the two. Both of them were clinging to Dawn as they glare at me. Are these two acquainted to Dawn? They seem pretty close to her considering how Dawn just let them cling to her and hug her.
It turns out that these two aren't students at all but grown adults who claims to be special to Dawn. Still I'm confused as to why do they have to act so rude when talking to me. Our encounter in the mall didn't last that long since they left right after the twins arrived.
Even at school when I asked for her assistance, she's still as cold as ever so I always counter her cold attitude with kindness. At first, it was going well but I was too caught up with the thought of talking to her that I accidentally used my position as the principal when she was about to leave. What I did made her somehow furious and I understand where her anger was coming from. It was stupid of me to do that so I tried my best to make her stay. Unexpectedly, she eventually stayed to help and that made me really happy. I would strike small conversations here and there which she doesn't exactly respond to. Her response are still too limited and restrained.
After she helped we take the boxes of files to my car, Dawn left in a rush and I had to choice but to go on my way as well. Nathan is already in our house when I got home and the two of us immediately got ready to eat dinner at a restaurant. I knew he did this because he's probably going to leave early tomorrow again which of course is fine with me. He took me in an average yet pleasing bistro. The ambiance is also great so I think everything else would be better. Nathan and I talked while waiting for our order yet I can't seem to focus.
