After a week, I was finally discharged from the hospital. Well, actually I was supposed to be discharged a few days earlier but the principal wouldn't let me out that early. She was too worried to let me out of the hospital so I had no choice but to stay for a little longer.
Besides, she'll just nag me if I refuse to stay in the hospital. She's such a worrywart.
She told me to sit on the sofa while she finish something first.
All I've been doing was sitting, I can't even barely move around when I was at the hospital and now she wants me to sit here again? It'll only make my body feel worse due to the lack of movement. Instead of doing what she told me to do, I walked around the house. My stomach doesn't hurt that much so walking won't exactly be a burden to me.
This is the only time I get to look at the inside of her house. There's not much furniture which gives it more space to move around and I like the interior color which is ash gray. There are also picture frames hanging on the wall though none has a picture of the principal since they're all landscapes pictures. Maybe she doesn't like hanging her own picture on the wall.
The kitchen was where I went next and eventhough I've already been in the kitchen, I still went there and took a quick look and when I came back in the living room the principal is already there, looking quite upset. "Didn't I told you to just seat here and wait for me?"
"You can't expect me sit still when all I've been doing the entire week is sit," I retorted. "It's exhausting."
She sigh then sat on the sofa. "Come here." she said, beckoning me to sit beside her.
I groan internally before sitting beside her. "What?"
"Now that things have settled down. Could me talk now?" she took my hand, looking expectantly at me.
Now that she brought that up, it made me curious as to why she left back then and since we're not going to do anything else, might as well take this opportunity talk to each other and clear things up. "Fine."
"Thank you. Though I'm not so sure where to start."
"How about starting with why you left and never came back for a week," I stated.
She rubbed the back of her neck, looking guilty. "Yeah, I should probably start with that," she agreed, giving me an apologetic smile. "Remember the time I told you that I'll handle things regarding my marriage?" I nodded my head. "Well to begin with, Nathan and I only got married due to the fact that our parents kept insisting about marriage. You see, we're close friends or maybe childhood friends to be exact. Since none of us had any lovers during that time, we decided to go along with them and get married while secretly setting some rules up.... First, is that nothing must happen between us and due to our busy schedules that wasn't exactly a problem. The second one is we can do whatever we want as long as we give each other some time to spend with. And the last and main rule of our marriage is to immediately file a divorce the moment one of us falls in love," she explained.
I didn't say anything right away as I let her explanation sink in my head. "So, basically it was a contractual marriage?"
"Yeah, that's right and the two of us are actually business partners."
"Okay," was all I could say.
"Anyways, I'll continue explaining. So after the field trip I had a talk with Nathan and I told him that I have feelings for you which by the way he already knew for quite some time and is just waiting for me to open up. Then he told me to talk to my parents and settle the divorce papers.... That's the reason why I left the school for a week. I wanted to finish it as soon as possible."
