"How could you!" My father, the prominent Mr. Worthington said as he pointed his finger directly in my face. "How could you befoul my name like this!" he screamed about an article that was released.
"I told you I didn't but no matter how many times I say it to you, you never believe me!" I yelled.
"Because you're a woman. And women lie," he said, sounding as ignorant as possible. Yes, this man was my father.
"And you don't lie Father?" I said standing up to him and talking back, something that he loathes - a confident woman. "Tell me father, who was caught with Natalia, huh?" I spewed his infidelity in his face. "Who Father?! Who did I walk in on fucking the maid in the pantry?!" I stuck the knife in deeper.
"ENOUGH! I will not have you talk to me this way in my own house!" He yelled as he stood up. He was pissed at me.
"Please, why don't you all stop yelling at each other, it doesn't do any good," Mother said as she sipped her drink. She didn't care what Father did as long as he left her alone so she could spend money.
My parents. My Father, Mr. Bryan Worthington, a black high profile lawyer who is well known in the community. My mother lucked up and found someone who would marry her and take her away from the slums of Chicago. Angela Worthington does not care what her husband does with his extracurricular activities as she has her own she tends to with the neighbors.
I have an older sister, Vicki who decided to live her life for her and was disowned by my parents. I'm on my way of being disowned as well. We were born into this wealthy family, but as the women in the family, we were groomed at a very early age to be 'seen and not heard'.
My sister and I were expected to be 'trophy wives' like my mother. Placed on a pedestal for the world to admire to avoid the indiscretions of my father and brother. My brother, Randy was groomed to be just like my Father and he didn't fail. He has a trophy wife, kids and a significant other as well.
I refuse to be like my mother, even if it means I will be disowned and penniless. My father needs to face his wrongdoings along with my brother. However, everyone refuses to go against my father, therefore he feels as though he's untouchable.
But he's about to find out how touchable he is.
