I was at home in my room when I started getting notifications about the book. Janelle sent me a link which generated completed reads per chapter. Only the prologue and the first two chapters were released and it already generated 10K reads! She was right, it had taken flight. I wanted to know the comments about the material therefore I went directly to the comment section of each chapter:

This family sounds real familiar - @makehimmndme

I wouldn't want to be a member of that family at all. I would kill someone - @fineassone

Mr. Carpenter has a 'Mr. Brian Worthington' feel to me, what y'all think - @deniseistheshit

This book is about to be drama filled and messy. I love it! - @prissyone

I knew there would be some who would automatically assume it was my family and then there were those who just enjoyed the story. I smiled at the thought of secrets I was about to reveal within this book. It would be just a matter of time before Father got wind of it. Until then, let the games begin.

"Did you see your book rating so far?" Janelle called me while I was writing in my room. Father doesn't come this way in the evening so I had no worries about him. Besides I would just tell him I was writing a paper for school, he really didn't check on shit like that.

"Yes, I saw it. I'm already proofreading the next two chapters." I said as I ran my finger across the page on the screen checking it for errors.

"Are you serious? Girl, your ass is insane. You must have a death wish."

"No, I just want to be able to live my life and show someone how it feels when someone dictates how your life should go, without your input." I voiced.

"Is this really about your family? Is this something you want to do? Do you care that they will be mad if they found out?" Janelle rattled off a series of questions.

"To be honest, I don't really care if they are mad at me. I'm mad. I can't marry someone I may fall in love with because Father doesn't feel a woman can have a mind of their own."

"Wow, I didn't know it was like that. Shit." She sounded as if she felt my pain.

"You have no idea," I said looking at a sample wedding invitation that was sent to me. My name was just underneath Jeffrey's full name: Jeffrey Antwoine Abrams. "I'm currently engaged with someone that I've never kissed." I heard Janelle gasp through the phone.

"Do you want to kiss him at least?" she asked.

"He doesn't like girls." I answered honestly.

"Holy Shit." Janelle didn't know what else to say. "I wouldn't have ever known. I'm sorry."

"No worries, you didn't know." I responded by throwing the invitation in the trash bin on the floor next to my desk.

"I mean, I thought you were bougie and you just complained because you were rich." She blurted.

"Wow," I sang out. "That's interesting." I chuckled at the thought.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you that well when I first met you. I mean, you're cool and all but,"

"But you thought I was a spoiled, little rich bitch, huh?" I giggled.

"I did at first, but I found out that you're not like that at all. Shit, I just found out you just as fucked up as the rest of us." Janelle laughed. I shook my head and smiled.

"Yup, pretty much, if not worse."

"Yeah, I don't think I would be living at home if my parents picked my husband. A gay one at that."
