Crippling Family Issues

N came back a few hours later, Uzi expected him to be angry at her, and in some way she had hoped he would be. But this was much worse, he seemed colder and more distant. She wanted to blast herself with her own railgun as she miraculously managed to lose his trust again. It seems like that was the only thing she was good at these days, ruining things. She sighed as she approached N, she had to be careful about what she does and says around him.

"N," She said. He kept ignoring her before walking away, "N, I didn't really mean it, I forg-"

"Forgot?" He said snapping at her, guilt arose in Uzi's stomach.

"Yes, I did" She admitted, she was in no position to lie or make up excuses. He scrunched his face in disgust and continued walking away.

"I don't want to indulge myself in a conversation with you" N snarled walking away, his voice laced with venom.

He stopped before saying, "Best we finish this mission, then we will never see each other again".

Doll popped her head inside the door before saying, "Yo, angst boy, we need to grab some supplies from the colony".

N nodded as he fixed himself to go to the colony. He fixed his jacket and hat to make himself look more presentable.

"I am going too," Uzi said in the background.

"No you are not, you're staying here where you can't cause any trouble" N snapped at her.

"Ha, did you really think that I would go to Copper-9 only to not visit my home, if so you are sooo wrong" Uzi said, faking a sense of shock.

"I think that's a good idea," Doll said quietly, ignoring N scoff when she said that.

"After all you have some unfinished business at the colony don't you" Dolls eyes narrowed. Uzi looked away, refusing to make eye contact, N couldn't understand why she would have any other motive to come to this trashed planet.

They stood in front of a large door, the entrance to the colony, Uzi's eyes clouded over when she saw the doors. Her fist clenched and her mouth was in a tight line. N couldn't understand what had her on edge so much. The door opened a little, for a small worker drone to peak out, his eyes widened in fear. He was about to shut the door again when N placed his claws between the cracks to keep it open. The drone looked like he was about to sh*t himself, as N forced the doors to open. The drone looked incredibly panicked now, then Uzi placed a hand on N shoulder and shook his head. N face changed into an expression of annoyance. Uzi stepped to the front of the door and when the drone looked at her eyes, his eyes widened. He stepped back and opened the door.

N grabbed Uzi's wrist and asked, "What the hell was that?"

The drone then bowed to her, before scurrying away in a hurry. Uzi escaped from N grasp before continuing to walk down the oh-to-familiar halls of the shelter.

"Coming here won't make me forgive you know?" He said quietly.

"That's not the reason I am here, I am here for...something else, something I had hoped to avoid" Uzi shook her head sadly.

Then a drone, about Uzi height approached out of one of the halls. He wore a red and yellow shirt with a cap. When he saw Uzi he froze in shock, mixed emotions were shown on his face between relief, happiness, and sadness. He rushed to Uzi and threw her a hug, and she gratefully hugged her back.

"Hey Thad, it's nice to see you again," Uzi said softly as he hugged her tightly.

"I thought I would never see you again" He replied, still not letting go of her.
