Break Us Down

The cold air snapped at their metal exterior, causing them to shudder in the dark. A few sentinels had tried to fry their circus, but thanks to Uzi's newly updated visor they were able to make it somewhat in one piece.

"There's nothing so far, no sign of her...should we head ba-" V said, breathing heavily as she wiped the dark red oil stains off of her head.

"No! Uzi trusted us with this, we at least have to bring something back for her...or else there is no telling what she would do to herself' N said, envisioning the worst.

Just like V and J were like his sisters despite their awful attitudes, he could tell that Tessa was like Uzi's sister. Deep down, he knew Tessa was probably her emotional support pillar that had kept her up despite all the hardships that were thrown at her. When he heard Uzi scream, he could see those pillars breaking and shattering down slowly from the pressure that had been built over a lifetime of pain.

He sighed and kicked a can, and something scattered across the floor. He was about to kick it again before V suddenly pulled him back in fear and panic. V shushed him quickly and pointed up to something on the ceiling. A batlike drone hanged upside down with blood dripping, causing his eyes to widen. But what was worse was that the tails and eyes and most of its facial features closely resembled a sentinel. There was a collar on its neck with the words "Pterodactyl".

"Oh fu-" V started.

Then the creature came at them, aiming for their head. In a moment what would have seemed like the end for them was replaced by the soft dripping of black oil. The creature's head was cut off cleanly by a blade.

"What were they doing down here?" V asked in shock as the head slid off the neck silently before hitting the ground with a thud.

"It seemed like someone was experimenting with them, don't you think?" Said a familiar australian accent.

Like a model on a red carpet, Tessa walked in unharmed in a JCjensen spacesuit accessorized with an oversized red bow. The sword was on her shoulder dripping with blood as she seemed to stare at them through her helmet. Her facial expression were hidden away by the black void that covered her face.

"Ennyyy!!! OMG, you have grown so much!! V, dang you look so hot" Tessa squealed as she ran over to hug N.

"Are you okay?" V asked precariously.

"Of course, nothing I couldn't handle," Tessa said happily.

But something about her words didn't quite reach its intention for some reason.

"What were those things?" N asked, kicking the corpse to flip it over.

"Lets just say, the AS manage to worm itself into the planet and infest it with Nephilims, a combination of sentinels and disassembly drones" Tessa said before sighing.

"But that's no problem, we can just leave them here, they probably infest it but they wouldn't be able to go anywhere under here" Tessa said examining the black blood.

N looked around to see a few nephilim pinned to the wall, with a weird red blob growing out them.

"What is that?" N asked.

"Probably nothing, maybe it's just fungus," Tessa said shrugging before she grabbed her sword to stab a stirring nephilim.

Tessa started to walk towards a human computer before taping it. She removed her glove and pressed the screen before it showed her a list of names.

"What are you here for?" V asked.

"I need to retrieve a list of Nephilims that are maybeeee infecting other planets" She admitted.
