Are You An Angel?

Uzi prepared the capsule quietly, thinking about making the deal. She thought about all the options she could try.

"You cannot save both"

"Nothing you do will work"

"A chance...a deal"

She closed her eyes, leaning her head against the wall, sighing to herself.

"This can settle your selfish wish" She whispered to herself.

"Uzi?" N whispered rubbing his eyes, clearly to just have woken up.

"Ready?" She asked him as he leaned against her, placing his head on top of her.

She giggled at how he was like a soft cuddly dog in the morning. He was definitely not a morning person, so she handed him a cup of warm oil made by her. He nodded and she started the capsule. They leaned against each other as they left the Copper 9 atmosphere, watching the stars and the infinitely many planets pass them.

"Do you think that human colonies are still alive?" N asked silently.

"I don't know..." Uzi answered honestly.

"What do you think?" N pressed.

"Maybe..." She replied.

"I don't understand, aren't humans supposed to be god? Then why do they seem like the satan themselves" N thought to himself.

"Not all humans are...evil. Sure humans may have their flaws, but not all humans are evil. In some ways they are just like us and we are just like them. I don't think being human means being god with flesh, blood, and bone...I think it simply means having an ounce of humanity" Uzi whispered.

"Humanity...I never truly understood what that word means" N said.

"Humanity? The truth is, I don't know the full meaning of it either. But I think humanity means being able to feel pain, being able to accept how insignificant you are, being able to accept reality as it is and being able to live happily as we can. It could also mean the ability to overcome any challenge; while not right away but with given time. The ability to love and sacrifice, the ability to feel selfish and accept it."

"Do I have any...humanity?" N asked himself quietly.

"Definitely" Uzi without hesitation.

"I am?" N said.

"Of course. Would you like to help me with the controls?"

"Sure...later, I like doing anything" N said, falling asleep on her.

They arrived on ariel-14, Tessa given last coordinates surrounded by red scarlet sand.

"What the actual hell was Tessa doing here?" J muttered.

Uzi bent to the ground and swatted away some sand revealing a pink stuffed bunny. Her expression hardened when she saw a familiar red liquid stick to the rabbit.

"This place is...one of the last hidden human populations...and by the looks of it, they were attacked only a few days ago" Uzi said coldly.

"Oh my god" V whispered and she brought her hand to face to stop the metallic smell from reaching her nose.

They didn't have to walk far to see what the Solver had wrecked on this planet. Their eyes widened in fear as they saw a large crater in the middle of the planet. Uzi hissed when she saw it getting bigger, like it was consuming the planet.

"We have to leave quickly," Uzi said fearfully, her eyes widening.

"We can't! What if there are survivors?" N shouted.

"We have no choice, the solver has already started a plague that will devour anything including this planet, it's too late. We only have so much time, everything at this point would be gone. The most we can even do is attempt to even find Tessa's body!" Uzi said sadly.

"Just what if-" N started.

"We can't risk it, do you know the human story of the Pandora Box? When the box was opened it released the plague and many other illnesses that consumed the world? Well guess what? Adam did that, he opened the box and now a new wave of cruelty will wash over the world, and if we get too close to it we might also destroy the other drones!"

Just then a soft cry was heard by them, and their eyes widened as they took out their weapons cautiously approaching the source of the sound. Uzi felt herself gasp as she saw a child.

A human child.

It looked at them in fear before backing away in horror.

"Don't hurt me!" She screamed.

Uzi froze at the look that the child gave her, and she backed away. N saw her look of fear on Uzi's face and sighed. He put away the weapon before bending down the child's eye view and offering her a hand. The child's eyes widened but didn't take his hand as it did. He used his solver to create a lollipop before handing it to the child.

"Hey kid...where is everyone else?" He asked softly.

The child's eyes watered up quickly before bursting into a sob, she tried to wipe her eyes but failed unsuccessfully.

"Everyone is gone...mom...dad...everyone...except for Cosmo and Solar" Cried the kid.

"Cosmo and Solar?" He asked her softly.

There was a soft mewing that came from the girl's pocket before a furry black head poked out along with another small golden head.

"It's all their fault. It's all because of monsters like you. You're a monster...it's all your fault" The kid cried, pointing at Uzi.

Uzi felt like her entire world had shattered in the moment and tears came to her eyes.

"Monster..."

"You're a monster"

"All your fault"

Those words echoed in her head dragging her deep into a pit of sorrow. Those words felt like the chains of her past tugging on each of her limbs, tying her down to the pain she could never escape. How could a kid she never met before hate her so much...and how can she understand why.

"You're wrong...she's different, I promise. She's not a monster, she's like the stars in the sky...always full of hope, warmth, and light no matter how far or dark it is. You can trust her, she will never hurt you" N whispered, turning the kid face to face to Uzi to get a better look.

At that moment Uzi felt as if the world had been lifted from her shoulders, and she smiled.

"If she is the star, then are you an angel?" The girl asked N softly.

"He is my angel..." Uzi replied looking at N with an expression that caused him to feel butterflies in his stomach.

"Yeah...I can be your angel if you come along with us and I promise we will keep you safe" N said offering his pinky.

The girl took it before wrapping her own small pinky around his.

"What's your name?" V asked softly.

"It's...Charlie" She said shyly.

"So Charlie...have you seen this lady anywhere" N asked, showing her a photo of Tessa.

"Yeah..." Charlie said, her eyes widening.

"Where?" N asked.

"She saved me but..." The girl said, biting her lips.

"A weird flesh creature took her and there was a lot of screaming and blood" She said.

Uzi's eyes widened in horror as the child said this before passing out.
