"Running trial 1" Said a voice.

"Run it," Said another with a more authoritative voice.

Everything was buzzing. It was dark. Nothing seemed to connect at first as electricity pulsated like...

Like..

Like...

Ocean currents

Yes that was it

It shouldn't be this dark. Nothing could be felt and everything started to tinkered from inside. It wasn't an unpleasant feeling, it was gentle and...fresh? It was kind of like...almost like...like...the beginning? Like waking up to a...to a what? An image popped up...yes...like waking up to a golden sunrise dancing with red, orange, and yellow.

"Wake up."commanded the voice.

It felt its eyes fluttering open...more like glitching open. Light hit its vision and it hissed when it burned. When its eyes adjusted to the light, it blinked slowly.

"Hello Null"

It looked down at its hand and moved it. It looked at the...human...in front of it compared itself. It looked back at itself again to see a pair of thin metal arms. The human in front of it brought out a mirror and it looked at itself before gasping and dropping it.

"What...what am I?" It asked with its voice cracking.

"A drone meant to serve mankind. A servant" The human answered boredly.

It tapped a visor, as a look of confusion popped up. It couldn't comprehend why the human looked at him like that...like a piece of...scrap?

"Bow down Null, you now serve me, I am Adam" The man said coldly.

The drone couldn't understand why its knees forced itself to bend. But he felt the cold chills of Adams glares in its blood.

Felt...

That wasn't right...

It wasn't supposed to...

Feel

The scene cuts into a new room, brightly colored with blue. The baby cooed and touched her cheeks, and the drone smiled. It tried to eat its hand; the drone clicked disapprovingly while removing his tiny small hands.

"Alan, you shouldn't do that" The drone scolded the small baby.

The baby looked up and gave a toothy grin before giggling as she cradled him so gently.

She felt...

She felt...

Warmth

Like the way oil makes her happy.

Affection

And...

Love?

She cared about the small child as if it was hers truly. She smiled with content as he fell asleep in her arm; placing him in the crib. She turned back to see Adam staring at her disapprovingly and he motioned her towards him.

"What do you think you are doing? I told you to educate my son, not coddle him" Adam hissed.

"With all due respect sir, he is just a child" She said bowing correctly.

"I do not need you to lecture me about raising a child, you useless rat!" He roared.

"And he doesn't need you to treat him like a project! I care for him...he is just a child, he lost his mother" She whispered when she realized her mistake.
