The Calm
The camp was quiet, the only sound coming from the crackling of the fire. The guards were on watch, one of them being Miller. Then, a breaking scream was heard all throughout camp. Everyone woke up to it, and Bellamy was the first one out of his tent.
"Viv!" Bellamy yelled, looking around camp as the others ran up to him.
"That was Vivian?" Octavia asked, worried.
"She was in the tent last time I checked." Miller said, and they started to rush to the tent as another scream ripped through the camp
Bellamy hurried, lift the flap open only to see Vivian on the makeshift bed clenching the fur blankets, eyes squeezed shut as sweat coated her forehead.
"No! Please!" Vivian yelled, and Bellamy hurried over to her and started to gently shake her.
"Viv, hey. You're okay." Bellamy whispered. Vivian sprung up eyes wide as she looked around when she locked eyes with Bellamy she broke.
"Bellamy." She sobbed crashing into him, and Bellamy held her close to him.
"It's okay, I'm here." Bellamy soothed. Miller stood there with a heartbroken expression.
"Here." Octavia said, handing Bellamy a wet cloth and a cup of water. Bellamy looked up at her and mouthed a thank you. He saw that Clarke, Murphy, Jasper, and Monty were standing there.
"I got her. How about you guys go back to your tents." Bellamy said, and they all reluctantly left. When Bellamy saw Miller still standing there. "I got her Miller, go back to your post." He added.
Miller looked at him, then back at Vivian, who was clutching onto Bellamy, with tears running down her face. He didn't want to leave his best friend, but he knew someone had to keep watch for the Grounders.
"Okay." Miller said, taking one last look at Vivian, and then he walked out.
Bellamy looked at Vivian and tucked her hair behind her ear.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Vivian pulled away from him, and Bellamy could see the tears in her eyes and the ones rolling down her cheeks.
"It felt so real, Bel." She sobbed, bringing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around her legs. "It was like I was back." She cried and buried her head down on her knees.
Bellamy pulled her close to him and started to run his fingers through her hair.
"I'm not going to let them hurt you again, I promise." He said and kissed her head. "How about you try to get some sleep. I'm not going anywhere." He added, and Vivian nodded and laid down.
Bellamy sat next to her and grabbed her hand.
"You can lay down, you know." She said with a small smile, trying to ease the tension. Bellamy let out a small laugh.
"Okay, hotshot." He said and laid down next to her, wrapping his arm around her, and she put her head on his chest, and he ran his fingers through her hair, them both finding it calming.
"Goodnight." Vivian said and drifted off to sleep.
________
It's been two days since Vivian and Murphy came back, two days since the sickness, two days since they blew up the bridge, and two days since Vivians first nightmare at camp and there was still no sign of the Grounders.
Ever since Vivian had her nightmare, she hasn't really been sleeping. She's been keeping watch mostly, just like everyone else. Even though she was told she needed to rest so her body could heal. When Bellamy or Miller told her to stay in the tent to rest, she would stay up most of the night, making knives or any other type of weapon that she could use.
