Uncovering Pasts

Shinazugawa Sanemi

"This place sure doesn't look flamboyant at all. Who lived here?" Tengen asked facing the hashiras while Giyuu felt it a bit familiar.. was this place near to his village by chance? he forgot. "Oi if you got a problem with my home then say it to my face bastard," Sanemi said putting on an angry face which gave Tengen a bit of chills so he stayed quiet for a while. "Oh, we're in Shinazugawa's past now then, how exciting!" Kyojuro said. Obanai was interested in seeing his best friend's past too since he never spoke about it. By now all the hashiras knew none of them had a really good past so not to expect much but it was still fun seeing the cute smaller versions of themselves.

"Kyaa!! is that you and your brother Shinazugawa-san?" Mitsuri asked pointing at the white hair boy and his little brother pulling a cart. They seemed to be on their way back home since it was getting late and the sun was setting. Sanemi looked at the sight. Of course, they had to show him and Genya. It was the day they promised to keep their family safe but wasn't it the same day his family got murdered? The day his mom turned into a stupid demon and killed all his siblings? They were showing the cute little moments before dropping the bomb on them. It angered him how this weird candle guy was playing around with them so much.
"Tsk yeah, so what? how do you even know Genya anyway... and he isn't my brother so stop saying that," Sanemi said glaring at her. "Ekk .... Shinazugawa-san can be a bit scary sometimes..." Mitsuri thought as she sweat dropped but she did wonder why he always said that and never mentioned about his little brother. She could see how close they were in the past. 

"Genya .. now that our father got stabbed and died ... the two of us have to protect the family .... "Mini Sanemi said still pulling the cart and not looking at his brother. The hashiras except Sanemi stood shocked. They didn't expect that. "Shinazugawa were-" Sanemi cut them off. "Save it I don't need anyone's pity," He said looking at them. "It's a relief he is gone-" Mitsuri got a bit upset at this part "Shinazugawa-san why would you say that about your father?" Mitsuri asked staring at him."What do you want me to say then? I'm so sad that fucking bastard who used to abuse my mother and everyone is dead now?" He asked staring back at her. She stayed quiet. Right ... how could she have said that without knowing the full story? She was at fault so she had to apologise. "Gomen Shinazugawa-san my mistake for speaking without knowing anything," She said in a guilty tone. "Whatever.." He said breaking the eye contact. 

"Not just from now on but like we always have ... right?" Mini Genya asked staring ahead. Mini Sanemi looked at him and smiled. His cute smile the one he had before things went wrong. "You have a flashy smile my friend I wish you had kept that," Tengen said looking at the adorableness of the siblings. Sanemi kept quiet some part of him wished that things went back to how it was like that too before the 'incident'. 

The rest of the evening the hashiras spent it talking and doing whatever they wanted like usual. Obanai and Mitsuri went on a little date just touring the nearby places near Sanemi's home and find something fun to do, whether it was to eat as much as mochi they wanted because people couldn't see them or show affection to each other or look at shops and people. Kyojuro and Tengen just were sitting and talking about random things like food or Tengen's wife. Gyomei was with Muichiro spending every moment with him. He felt bad for the kid because he died too early he was too young for something like this and seeing his brother just die in front of him again. So Gyomei just comforted him and they spent time. 

"I'm glad Kanroji and Iguro are finally together it was frustrating seeing them just blush and do nothing," Giyuu said staring off at the couple laughing and having fun. "Ara ara~ are you jealous of them though Tomioka-san?" Shinobu said looking at his emotionless face. "Also I never knew you could get frustrated because you never seem to show anyone any emotions its weird you know that's why Iguro-san and Shinazugawa-san always get annoyed," She continued. "You should-" Giyuu stopped her. "I know Kocho..." He said finally looking into her eyes and then looking away after a bit. A tint of pink crept on her cheek when he looked at her that way but she brushed it off. "Then ...why Tomioka-san?" She asked but he stayed quiet. 
The sun set and the stars were up in the sky. "The moon is beautiful isn't it?" She asked admiring the moon. "It is..." he said looking up too. He knew what she meant when she said that but he was scared to lose her. No, he was gonna lose her he saw the future and there was no way to change it. "I love you too .... " He thought in his head, repeating it over and over wanting to open his mouth to say it to her but he couldn't muster the courage. "Let's head back I'm sure the others are there already," Giyuu said getting up while Shinobu followed.
