Did I say before Christmas? I meant within a week apparently. Next one should take a little while longer to finish. Bear with me, please.

Y/N stands in front of the main group plus Seryu for some reason, breathing a heavy sigh he begins. "I think now's the time I explain everything about my circumstances. Starting from the end of my life.

After dying, I met a god. His name is Not. No, I'm not playing with you, that's what he goes by. He offered me two choices. Stay dead, or be reincarnated. I had no idea I would be taking over a stillborn fetus. And I had no idea Ozpin would eventually get his hands on his soul. However, I did know that I would keep my Tick and the energy that facilitates that power.

Ticks are abilities named after the periodic change in eye color on activation of the ability. Inergy is something almost everyone in my original world is born with. It's almost like a fluid with how versatile it is and just how many abilities it can manifest. I was born with very little of this energy. So little that I couldn't even manifest my power until I was twelve. It wasn't until I came here that I could keep it active for more than five minutes at a time.

If you're interested in specifics, come talk to me later.

I'm telling you all of this because Jaune has manifested a Tick. Specifically the Fire Element Tick," Y/N explains, a chorus of gasps and shocked expressions. "I hadn't expected that his large pool of aura would take to Inergy, as my small pool did to Aura."

"Wait, so I'm like you?" Jaune asks. "Does that mean that I can kill Salem?"

"No, the fire element is one of the most common Ticks, for whatever reason," Y/N says. "And it's also just an element type. My Tick is an Ocular type, meaning it has less to do with the physical world and more of the mental side of things."

"But can't you alter the physical world?" Ruby asks.

"Sort of. My original power, or First Activation, was simply to know what emotions someone was exhibiting, even if they didn't show it. Believe it or not, bloodlust is an emotion," He laughed. "But my second Activation allowed me to alter the way people felt. It evolved after Ozpin tried to replace me with Oath. So that's how I can alter the way things feel with my commands."

"How many activations are there?" Yang asks.

"There are five known," Y/N says. "I am currently at my third."

"How do you go up the ladder?" Oscar asks.

"Well... as Ticks are inherently emotional powers, strong feelings of emotion allow for the evolution," Y/N explained. "For example, the second is acquired by strong feelings of anger, or if your life happens to be in danger your power will evolve depending on the situation."

"How do you determine that?" Weiss asks.

"Uh... well, say you're a fire elemental for example, if you tend to use large attacks that cover a wide area, it evolves into the lava element if you're not born with it. On the other hand, if you use it for long-range, quick attacks it can evolve into the lightning element."

"I can get lightning?" Jaune got excited.

"In very specific circumstances, yeah," Y/N looked away. "Any other questions?"

"When did you get your second and third activations?" Blake asks.

"When Bulat died and the fall of Beacon," he remembered. "Why?"

"Just wondering," Blake shrugged.

Later.

Y/N's taking a stroll on the beach when Winter silently joins him. She's not walking too close or too far, but just close enough to reach out and touch his wings if she wants.
