School's finally over. Neil didn't really mess with me for the rest of the class, and I don't know why. It was weird. Kiyan stayed with me the entire time as well.
Kiyan and I walk through the front doors together, "thanks for earlier."
"Hm? What do you mean?" he asks, genuinely confused.
"For... saying something to Neil."
"Oh. Why're you thanking me for that? Any decent person would've done the same thing."
"You already know those kinds of people don't exist at that school, Kiyan. So just say thank you."
"Thank you, Spot."
We walk and talk some more and I start to shiver as snow falls.
"Here," Kiyan takes off his scarf and wraps it around me. I bet if he had a coat he'd give it to me too.
"I don't need-"
"Just say thank you. I'll take you home, come get in."
"I can take the bus, but thanks-"
"Vinnie. Get in the car." he demands as he opens the door for me.
I wait and think about it, then get in. Once I sit, he closes the door and starts toward the driver's seat. As he grabs the handle, a girl stops him: Dayna. She's one of Neil's friends.
Kiyan and her laugh a bit then she looks through the windshield at me. Her face turns a bit angry and then Kiyan gets in the car as she slowly steps aside.
We pull out of the parking lot and he asks, "you're not curious as to what that was about?"
"Nope. Not my business."
"Well, I'm gonna tell you anyway. She wanted my number."
"Cool."
"Wanna know what I said?"
"No, but I'm sure you'll tell me anyway."
"True. I told her no because the first number I wanted in my phone from this school was yours. So give it."
I turn to look at him slowly, "what makes you so damn cocky?"
"Mm... I'm handsome. I'm smart. I'm funny. And I have abs. What more-"
I snicker. I cover my mouth, "sorry."
"What're you laughing at?" he asks, offended.
"Abs? Seriously?"
As we stop at a red light, he lifts his shirt up. 8-pack.
"Yes. Abs. Wanna touch them?"
If we were closer, I'd say yeah.
"No, put your shirt down!"
He cackles and pulls his shirt down.
Silence fills the car then I notice that he knows where he's going... to my house.
"Uh, wait. How do you know where I live? Are you a stalker?"
"What? No. I live next to you."
WHAT?!
"A-are you serious?"
"As a heart attack, girl. I saw you leaving out this morning."
"If you thought I was cute, why didn't you say something then?"
"Because I was still getting ready for school, duh. And all the other times when I had just moved in, you were never outside. I saw you that one day I moved in, and never after that. If I didn't catch you at school, I probably would've just knocked on your door."
