Chapter X: Amends

— We're back in Vinnie's POV —

Yesterday felt like a dream. But I definitely know that it wasn't. Kiyan really jerked off to me, in front of me. When he was finished, he didn't move off of me for a while. He just stayed there and kissed me more. He then got up to shower and I laid down in the sheets and forced myself to sleep.

"Suki." I hear.

I open my eyes to see him standing over top of me.

"Hm?"

"Get up."

"Why?"

"Because I wanna talk to you but I can't because you're still asleep."

"Talk about what?" I ask, eyes still closed.

"Anything. I just miss you."

I sigh deeply then open my eyes, "seriously? I wanna sleep some more."

"And I want a unicorn. Seems like we're both not getting what we want, hm?" he sits next to me.

"You're so damn rude." I groan.

"Me rude? You've been asleep since yesterday as if I'm not here. Right after we started watching the movie again, you fell asleep."

"I was tired."

"Get up so we can hangout in the resort somewhere." he says.

I yawn, "oh, yeah. I forgot you got put on resort-arrest yesterday 'cause of me." I stand.

"That wasn't your fault, Vinnie. He had that shit coming." Kiyan reassures me.

"If he didn't talk shit about me, you wouldn't have touched him, Kiyan. You and I both know that. So don't fight on behalf of me again." I walk towards the bathroom.

"I can't promise you that, Suki. You're basically my girlfriend so if someone disrespects you, they're getting their ass beat on spot. Get it? Spot? It's your nickname." he laughs.

While I brush my teeth I try not to laugh but I crack, "that wasn't even funny, oh God."

His laughter dies down and he leans against the bathroom doorframe, "but seriously, I'll fight for you again if I have to. I'm ready to risk it all for you, love."

"Thank you."

"Mhm. I'm gonna go see what Mr. Simmons wants. He emailed me and said to meet him in the cafeteria. Wait for me in the lobby, okay?"

"Mhm."

I put on a pair of grey sweatpants and a black hoodie to meet Kiyan but he still isn't done talking to Mr. Simmons.

"You look comfortable." I hear.

I look up from my phone and to the side: it's Rain.

"Why? 'Cause of my outfit or the way I'm sitting?"

"Mm. Both. What're you doing?" He hops over the couch and sits next to me.

"Just shopping." I answer.

He lifts up and glances at my phone, "oh. I thought you meant for clothes." he sits back.

"Underwear is clothes." I laugh.

"Well, yeah but... I meant like... actual... never mind."

"Sukiiiiii!" I hear.

I turn around and see Kiyan walking over with his arms sprawled out for a hug.

"Oh, my God." I whisper.

He reaches me and hugs me from behind the couch.

I don't hug him back but instead wait for him to let me go.

"Why aren't you hugging me back?"

"You're literally suffocating me."

He lets go and hops over the couch and sits on the other side of me, "where is Zain and Cat?"

"They went shopping but I stayed 'cause I know you can't go anywhere."

"Aww, you like me that much, Suki?"

"It's not too late for me to leave; don't push it."

Rain laughs, "you guys' banter is cute."

"It's not cute. He's so-"

"So what, Suki?"

"Shut up."

"So what're you guys doing today?" Rain asks.

"Just chilling in here. I got put on house arrest for fighting." Kiyan answers.

"Oh... why were you fighting?"

"'Cause he kept disrespecting Vinnie. He's been an asshole to her from all I've seen since I came here. And before then too. She didn't like me when she first met me because she thought he sent me to tease her."

"Why didn't you tell the school, Vinnie?" Rain asks me.

"I tried but they didn't do much." I shrug.

"Wait. I just realized you never apologized to me for misunderstanding my intentions on the first day." Kiyan squints at me.

"Yeah, 'cause I wasn't sorry. You saw and are still witnessing the stuff I went through. Can you blame me?"

"I know, Suki." he says as he rubs my cheek.

"Spot." I hear.

I turn around and see Neil sitting by the fireplace by himself.

"What now, Neil? Wasn't getting your ass beat enough to leave me the fu-"

"I just wanna talk for a second. Put on your bathing suit and meet me in the hot tub." he gets up then walks away.

"I'll go with you." Kiyan says.

Neil seemed so genuine and I didn't sense any animosity like I normally do. I should go alone.

"No, it's fine. I'll take my phone with me just in case anything happens." I stand.

When I start to walk away, Kiyan grabs my wrist, "Vinnie."

I peel his hand off, "it's fine. I'll be fine."

I walk into the area that has the hot tub and see Neil sitting in the water, with his head leaned back. He has on swim trunks and no shirt. His abs are similar to Kiyan's but a little less toned.

"I'm here. I can't stay long 'cause I'm gonna watch a movie with Kiyan and Rain later. What do you want?" I ask.

Without lifting up he says, "get in. Then I'll talk."

I scoff then remove my robe. I sit across from him in the water, "so?"

He takes a minute then finally lifts up, "I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"Bullying you. I'm nineteen years old and I still act like a frivolous child." he sadly laughs at himself.

"Why do you always mess with me, Neil? I've never done anything to you. I even tried being your friend but you just hated my guts." I finally ask.

"That's how kids are when they have crushes, no?"

My eyes get small, "what?"

He sighs, "I bullied you because I wanted you and I didn't know how to approach you. I grew up with only a father and he's a damn junkie so all I know about love is that it hurts. So I tried hurting you to show I cared."

Honestly, I'm not surprised. I've seen this in a movie once. And had he told me he liked me instead of being an asshole, I probably would've tried things with him. Neil isn't an ugly guy, he's just hurt and angry which makes him seem that way.

"Well. What do you want from me?" I ask.

"Forgiveness and... I may be asking for too much with this, but a hug? I just wanna bury all of this now."

I don't hesitate to get up and walk to him. I wrap my arms around his neck and tell him, "I forgive you. Let's be friends, okay?"

I know we're sitting in water right now, but I felt more water fall on me after he wrapped his arms around me. It was a tear.
