*Mention of sexual assault in this chapter, be careful*
Kiyan and I actually fell asleep yesterday after we both finished. But when I woke up, my hands were clean. He woke me up and told me to go home and shower then call him so he could come over. When I called him, he didn't answer. He fell asleep. And I called him this morning too, to come with my father and I but he was still asleep.
"So which way do I turn?" my dad asks.
"Right. I told you that, old man!" I say.
We're trying to get to Neil's house.
"See, why'd I have to be all of that? You could've just said "right, Dad. It says it right here." or "I said right a few minutes ago, Dad. But I understand because you're getting a little older." You're so damn rude." he shakes his head at me.
I laugh, "you're so dramatic."
"Says the one who threw herself across the room after I barely tapped her."
I cackle because he's not wrong, "you pushed me too hard!"
"I barely touched you!" he laughs too.
"Oh, his house is right there the GPS says." I point.
He pulls into the driveway and Neil is already waiting outside with two suitcases and a duffel bag. He told me he left his school stuff at school so he wouldn't have to worry about it.
"Oh, I thought you'd have more stuff than this." I say when I open the car door.
"Nope. Just grabbed my essentials." he shakes his head.
I grab a suitcase and my dad grabs the other one.
"What did your father say when you said you were leaving?" Dad asks.
"Not much. He didn't really care either." Neil shrugs.
We put his stuff into the trunk and I get into the backseat.
"I can sit back there." he says.
"Nah, your legs are longer. I'm fine."
As we start the drive back home, Dad tells Neil, "I won't tolerate any rude behavior in my house. You will not disrespect my daughters, my wife, me or my house. And you will do good in school as well as the teachings I give you, alright? And you are required to help us clean every Sunday as well as listen to our live church while we do so."
Neil says, "yes sir." as firmly as possible.
"Okay then. I'll start teaching you to flip houses next week because I'm pretty busy this week. We have to finish decorating this house before Christmas which is in a week and some change."
"Okay, thank you. I really appreciate you letting me stay with you guys." Neil says.
I smile at his kindness and respect towards my father. It's crazy to think that just two weeks ago he was teasing me.
When we got back home, I helped Neil take all of this things to his new room. Now we're all sitting at the dinner table, waiting for Ma to finish making our sandwiches for lunch.
"Neil, do you want alfalfa sprouts?" Ma asks him.
"Uhh, I'm not sure what those are but I'll try anything once. So, yes please."
"That's the spirit!" she smiles.
Alfalfa sprouts is grass. It's literal grass that my mother loves to put on her sandwiches. It's disgusting.
In the midst of Neil and my father talking, the doorbell rings.
"Get that, Nilla. It's your little boyfriend and his brother." Ma teases.
