He'd have just one more drink and then leave. Azu been waiting for exactly an hour for the woman to show, longer than he had expected to be here. By now, she was definitely done talking to her boss, so it was very clear that she was not coming. The bartender noticed his empty glass and immediately approached him.

"Refill?" he asked.

"Last one and then I'm out. Same mix."

"Okay sir." The man mixed the drinks and then handed him a new glass. "It gets easier with time, the alcohol definitely helps too."

Azu lifted a brow confused, but the bartender only smiled at him. "What are you talking about?"

"It's about a woman right? How long ago was the break up?"

Azu threw his head back and laughed as loudly as he could in the noisy bar. "Do I really look heartbroken? For real?"

"A little. It doesn't help that you are drinking alone, at the bar."

"My guy, come off it. I just needed to clear my head. No woman can move me to drinking."

"Hmm."

"What is it?"

"Nothing sir."

Azu shook his head then downed his drink in one gulp. She was not coming and a part of him already knew this, so why was he feeling disappointed? It was a Monday night and he had a shit ton of work to do. Get the fuck over this, man, he tried convincing himself. Why was this girl even affecting him? He'd never had issues with women before, they either liked him or they didn't, usually the ratio of the former was higher. If they didn't like him, it required only a little bit of effort on his part and they were putty in his hands. Immediately he was done with them, he moved on. He definitely didn't do strings or relationships. So what was it with this one? Was it because she was unaffected by him? Or was it because she gave excellent head? Whatever it was, he better nip it now. God forbid he turned into a love struck puppy like his best friends. It was time to move on.

He settled his tab then pocketed his wallet. When he turned, he was shocked to see her standing at the entrance, her gaze wandering as if in search of someone. Even if he tried, there was no stopping his grin as he made his way to her. Their gaze collided as he got closer and the corners of her lips lifted a little before she forced it into a frown. Azu had been told so many times that he had an infectious smile and personality. Whenever he was around, everyone was in a good mood, but that didn't seem to be the case with this woman. She was trying her hardest to stay unaffected. He quickly scrapped his plans of moving on, his new goal was to make her very affected by him. Even if it was anger he got, he'd gladly take it.

"You're lucky you caught me. I was already leaving." He stretched out a hand for hers but she looked at him with barely veiled discomfort. "I don't bite, at least not right now."

"I just came to talk because Madam Ini made me."

"I have a feeling nobody can make you do anything you don't want to."

"Well, she's my boss so she can make me."

"Let's get a table. What would you like to drink? Or should we have gone for dinner instead?" He held her chair for her bed going around to his.

"I'm good. I won't be here for long."

"Oh!" He winked at her. "You're trying so hard to take me home, aren't you?"

"I am not." Ijeoma glared at him.

"Yes you are. Damn, woman! At least buy me dinner before trying to have your way with me."

She rolled her eyes, a small smile playing on her face, one she immediately wiped off. "Let's talk then. Madam Ini said you wanted me here to talk."

A waiter appeared just then. "Good evening. What can I get you guys?"
