Mondays are the worst. Besides the fact that my morning shift is always busy, everyone's in a crappy mood, and I have to deal with their moodiness on my own.
But there is one customer who's always moody, no matter the day or time, and he's the only one I'm willing to tolerate. Because he's hot, not gonna lie.
Today, though, he came at the worst time.
I had just finished dealing with a 'Karen', beads of sweat were falling down my forehead, and some strands of my hair fell out of the ponytail and seriously wanted to pass out right then and there.
I usually smile at him, but I had run out of energy to be nice.
"Choso, black coffee and a brownie, right?" I ask as he approaches. He frowns slightly before returning to his cold gaze.
"Right."
I tap in his order on the computer and tell my coworker to prepare his coffee as I go to fetch him a brownie.
Choso had leaned on the counter while I was gone, and when I returned I saw him writing something on a piece of paper.
"Sorry for the delay, brownies just came out of the oven," I say, with a dead tone and a robotic smile. I notice a slight pull of his eyebrow.
I packed his order into a takeaway box and put it on the counter. "That'll be 12 dollars."
He had already prepared the money and slid it on the counter towards me, along with that piece of paper.
I look up at him as he takes his order, then he raises one hand to his lips and stretches his fingers as smiles and he says calmly, "Smile, it suits you."
I watch him leave with my jaw hung open. As if that wasn't enough to leave me dumbstruck for the rest of the day, the note that he left had his socials and a cute doodle that I guess is supposed to be me.
That left me too stunned to speak.
The guy I find hot just gave me his socials, on his own, and even complimented me. Is this real?
It definitely is, because my cheeks are so red they hurt.
