Chapter 4: Berserk

???: Mentality means a lot in this world. Those with good mental states have better control over themselves and their twilight. But those with bad mental states do not. Mentality and twilight coexist with each other and therefore, work in tandem. Good mentality equals more control over twilight. Bad mentality equals little to no control over twilight. Those who are suicidal or hate themselves enough will have no control whatsoever. So when a transformation takes place, they go "Berserk." A complete and total loss of control.

Lycoris' creature leaps at Quinn's.

Quinn: Shit!

Quinn grabs Lycoris and throws him on the ground. Lycoris grabs Quinn's arm and rips it off.

Quinn: AHHH!

His arm regenerates.

Quinn: For god sake Lycoris!

Quinn jumps back and makes a large gap in between them both. Lycoris is growling.

Quinn: I should've listened to Mya. He wasn't ready. And now I'll suffer because of it. I shouldn't have done this yet. I'm sorry Lycoris.

Lycoris charges at Quinn. His mask lifts up revealing his mouth. It has multiple rows of teeth.

Quinn: Teeth?! I've never seen a creature with teeth! Is this because of him going berserk?!

Lycoris bites into the neck of Quinn's creature.

Quinn: AHHH!

Quinn is ripped out of his creature. The body of the creature disappears. He has purple markings on his whole body. Lycoris throws Quinn into a wall.

Quinn: You ripped me out... Teeth... What an amazing thing to witness. I wonder if other worlds have these abnormalities. Either way, I'm grateful to be able to experience this first hand.

A purple aura appears around Quinn. It concentrates on his fist and his creature emerges from it.

Quinn: I'll let you two fight for now. I need to go find Mya and Harbin.

Quinn runs away as Lycoris and the creature attack each other.

Mya: Harbin.

Harbin: Yeah?

Mya: Keep your guard up.

Harbin: Why?

Mya: I was right.

Harbin: About Lycoris?

Mya: Yeah.

Harbin: Oh no.

Mya: Should we go back?

Harbin: I think so.

Mya: Yes or no?

Harbin: Yes.

Mya: Then lets go.

They turn around and start running back. Quinn runs in front of them and they all bump into each other.

Mya: Quinn!

Quinn: He went berserk!

Mya: I can tell. Where is he?

Quinn: Back where we were. Fighting my-

A creature appears behind Quinn. It's Lycoris'.

Quinn: RUN!

Lycoris grabs Quinn again and throws him onto the ground.

Mya: ELENCHOS!

Lycoris uses his other hand to punch Mya. She goes flying backwards.

Mya: Shit! He wasn't affected? How?
