Chapter 5: The man in the black robe
A dark space.
Lycoris is lying down in a black void.
???: Are you giving up?
Lycoris: No. I'm resting.
???: You almost killed them, you know.
Lycoris: Did I?
???: Yeah.
Lycoris: I never meant to.
???: Why do you care?
Lycoris: I don't.
???: So you don't care if they die?
Lycoris: Not really. I've only known them for like a day.
???: Your heart is so incredibly dark.
Lycoris: That's what happens when you've lived the life I have.
???: What life have you lived?
Lycoris: One of malice.
???: You want to hurt people?
Lycoris: Sometimes.
???: So why did you not want to kill them?
Lycoris: I don't know.
???: Your parents are dead.
Lycoris: I know.
???: That doesn't mean you have to give up.
Lycoris: Are you giving me advice or insulting me?
???: That's for you to interpret.
Lycoris: Who are you?
???: That's for you to interpret.
Lycoris: What was the meaning for this?
???: That's for you to interpret.
Lycoris: Got it.
???: Fight.
Lycoris stands up.
Lycoris: Fight?
???: Fight.
Lycoris: How?
???: However you wish.
Lycoris: But I'm not like them.
???: You can transform.
Lycoris: But I'll just kill them.
???: I thought you didn't care.
Lycoris: I have morality. I don't want to just kill them.
???: But what does it matter to you?
Lycoris: ...
???: It's either you kill them, or the man in the black robe kills them. It's your decision Lycoris.
Lycoris slowly opens his eyes.
Harbin: Shit!
The ball comes face to face with Harbin. Harbin quickly summons a ballistic shield. The ball makes contact with the shield and immediately disappears. The shield also disappears. Harbin is exhausted.
Man: What the hell?!
Harbin: My ballistic shields can tank one hit no matter how powerful it is. But now I can't use my mastery for about 3 minutes.
Man's Thoughts: My energy levels are about 11%. I could only fire 1-2%. Which isn't worth it. Shit. I'm stuck.
Harbin falls to the floor. Mya runs over and grabs him.
