After showering and getting ready for a relaxed day at home I decided to go grab some breakfast.
I pick up my phone, and put in my pocket and take a deep breath to brace myself for I don't know what.
I exit my room and walk to the kitchen.
I turn the corner and see Elijah and Simon making small talk as they're sitting at the kitchen island and eating breakfast.
As I turn the corner, Simon sees me first, "Hey, sis. How's it going?" He asks me.
I enter the kitchen and head straight to the coffee machine and turn it on.
"It's going good. Thanks for asking and with you?" I ask him as I make coffee.
"Well, it could be better but it's not the end of the world." He says to me and I sigh.
"Why? What happened now?" I ask him.
"Melanie and I just got into another argument but I'm sure everything will be fine." He tells me.
"Is that why you came home so early?" I ask him and he nods, "Yeah, I'll see if we can make up later today." He says to me.
"Oh, I'm sure you'll be fine." I tell him.
"Yeah, probably. I just need to be more understanding next time. Anyway how'd you sleep?" He asks me clearly trying to change the subject.
I finish making my coffee and turn to him. "Better than ever! That bed is absolutely fantastic." I say enthusiastically as I stand in front of the island and Elijah and I make eye contact for a brief second.
"Is the bed really that comfortable?" Elijah asks me. "Yeah, is it really cause I'm pretty sure we have the same beds and mine could use some spring in its step again." Simon adds.
"Yeah, I love it. It's better than any of my previous beds. Plus, I don't know what you have done on your bed, but mine is just fine, Simon." I say to him and take a sip of my coffee.
A grin just forms on Elijah's face before he takes a sip of his coffee.
"You and I have probably done the same things on our beds, okay!" Simon exclaims defensively.
"I doubt it." Is all I say to him.
"Oh, don't play all innocent. I'm sure you have had some guys over that we don't know about." Simon says to me.
I frown and look at him.
"What kind of girl do you think I am, Simon? I've only been living here a few weeks. What do you think I just go around sleeping with every guy I meet?" I ask him angrily.
"No, that's not what I meant, Alana. I know you don't just go hooking up with random guys you meet. I meant like you must've had some rebound already, haven't you? Like that other guy you went out on a date with..." He says to me.
"Joey? Really? We went out on one date that went nowhere. Plus, it takes more than one date to get me in bed." I tell him.
"So, you've never had a rebound guy here that we don't know about?" Elijah asks me.
That's a bold question to ask coming from the man I'm sleeping with.
I gulp and shake my head, "Not that it's any of your business, but no. No rebounds. I'm not that type of girl." I tell him.
"Well, if you wanted some alone time with someone here, just let us know, then we'll duck out of the apartment for a few hours, okay?" Simon says to me.
"Eww, no, I'm good, thanks. I'll make other arrangements if need be, but for now, there's nothing for you to worry about." I tell him.
"Good, I could use a break for once." He says and sighs.
