Does nine to five really have to mean nine to bloodclaat five?
There was just something truly wicked about having to leave my bed every morning, spending every minute of the day dreaming about the next time I get to meet it's warm embrace.
God neva intend for us to be slaves to capitalism.
No man dis cyaa right...
We afto figure out an alternative.
Rolling out of bed, my feet immediately find their way into my bed slippers, a daily act of trying my hardest to escape the cold tiles set out underneath my feet.
Dat woulda send me inna shock.
I am met with my reflection as I push my body up and off my mattress, my legs leading me over to my dresser.
Jesus Christ...
Me look like today, yesterday, and tomorrow.
Den dis nuh good.
My mind instantly goes into solution mode, I had an early in-person meeting with one of my clients today, and I was not about to show up to di people dem establishment looking any sorta way.
I examined myself in the mirror, being critical of everything I felt was out of place.
Since when did I get bags under my eyes?
Me aguh haffi pon on likkle makeup today.
Turning back towards the bed, I pull my phone off the charger, grabbing it up from its designated spot on the side table.
I tap the screen lightly.
7:25 a.m
Yea, me already late and me not even start.
After silently freaking out about the time, I finally focus my attention on the notifications I missed while I was asleep.
