Jiang Cheng POV

I am not a fan of Lan Wangji and I do not hide it. Since the dawn of their love story till date, I wish my 'brother-in-law' would drown in the tub after slipping on a bar of soap.

If this were a true crime story, I would have positioned the soap in that spot.

I wish he would choke on dumplings. I wish he had a deadly allergy to garlic, I would have dosed a whole powder of it in stew and watched my brother feed it to him.

I would have encouraged Wei Ying to take him on an extreme bungy jumping and then cut the ropes when he leaps. I would have...

Wei Ying: Jiang Cheng, you're here.

Jiang Cheng: What do you want now? This is my POV moment where I share murderous thoughts about the people I hate.

Wei Ying: Hehe...well, you see...Lan Zhan is back and I have yet to break the news about the baby so...

Jiang Cheng: Not my problem. Get out of here.

Wei Ying: Come on. Let me share this POV with you.

Jiang Cheng: I said get out... Author, are you going to allow him to invade my privacy? Does he not torment me enough?

(Author: He is your brother. No rule says you can't share.)

Jiang Cheng: Great! Just great, you biased cat lover. I will not forget this.

Wei Ying: Yay! I'll be hiding here for a while, so roll the chapter, please...

******Chapter 10*******

Lan Wangji changed into more comfortable attire before unpacking his luggage, while Wei Ying sat on the bed, explaining himself. Lan Wangi neatly folded shirts and dug further into his belongings, but paused to hold Wei Ying's face when he disclosed why they had not been in touch.

"You should have told me you were sick, Wei Ying," Lan Wangji said softly.

"Nah, I knew you would fly right over if I told you. It was just the flu; I didn't want to disrupt your work. That's why I asked Jiang Cheng to stay with me. He's been taking good care of me," Wei Ying explained.

"Mn," Lan Wangji murmured, caressing his partner's face lovingly. "Are you better now?"

"I have to go back to the hospital for a review, but I'm much better now."

"When is the review? I will go with you."

"No!" Wei Ying panicked. "I mean, Jiang Cheng will be taking me. It's his doctor we went to see," Wei Ying clarified.

Lan Wangji found it odd that Wei Ying could not just call the Lan family doctor, but he chose not to dwell on it.

Later that morning, Wei Ying tiptoed into the guest room. "Please don't go. I need you more than ever," Wei Ying pleaded, feigning tears.

"Not a chance. You needed me when you were sick, and now you're not," Jiang Cheng responded firmly as he packed.

"But I am... *cough cough*... see... *cough cough*... my throat is on fire," Wei Ying attempted to convince him, adding waterworks for effect.

"Not gonna work, clown," Jiang Cheng retorted, focused on packing. He intended to wipe the room clean of his stuff and scent.

Wei Ying scurried closer and hugged his knees, then climbed up, forcing Jiang Cheng into an awkward hug. "Do it for the baby, Uncle Cheng. Waaaaa."
