"welcome me to my home!" raena exclaims as she opens the door to her home as grand as possible.

the two are welcomed by the scent of watermelons per the plug-ins and scented sticks played strategically in the living room.

it was a small place but homey and definitely belonged to raena. her favorite idols had special poster placements on the wall, a couple of teddy bears on the couch, and colorful items of decor raena slowly collected through the years made the otherwise grey and bland furniture stand out. yoongi wondered which parts were her twin brothers.

the kitchen was on the right of the living room divided by a long hallway headed towards the rest of the houses rooms.

as the two removed their shoes, raena gestured to the small kitchen.

"want anything to eat?" raena asked, putting all her stuff down on the kitchen counter.

yoongi hums, "water?"

raena snorts. "okay coming right up. make yourself at home and watch some tv. i'm gonna change." she grabs a water from the fridge and calls out to her friend to catch from his seat on the sofa. luckily he catches it without missing a beat and continues to find the remote. "actually, you know what? i'm going to shower quickly i promise i won't take long!"

she skips towards her room after dimming the living room lights then leaving yoongi behind on the couch.

yoongi flips through channels until he found one that could serve as a background show for while he looked on his phone.

he wasn't always on social media but he needed to do something mindless to get his brain to stop thinking. he was getting sleepy, his phone was still blowing up, and the voice of jimin lingered in his ear.

he found himself looking at taehyung's story, a simple selfie of him at the bar he worked at a couple hours early. he clicked his profile curious to see if taehyung had posted anything new and scrolled down, wondering if their mutual friend raena had made an appearance that he never noticed.

finally he found one of the two of them in a selfie with taehyung's nephews. raena's usual bunny smile flashed through the screen. a faint of a smile played one yoongi's slips. he scrolled some more on taehyung's account, finding more hints of raena. how come he never noticed this person in his life? perhaps it was fate that made it so after just days of meeting he was in her home.

thinking he found another image of raena, yoongi's finger paused on an image. he was surprised to see taehyung was in his high school uniform. how long have they known each other?

yoongi's brows furrowed. "what's this?" he asked himself.

he zoomed in on what he thought was raena but rather boy who looked really similar, the same bunny smile, his hair hiding in a hoodie, a arm hooked around taehyung's neck in friendship. in the caption of the post, it read - the golden maknae.

"could it be?"

yoongi suddenly paced the living room for pictures that might confirm his theory. snooping was way beyond a normal thing for him. but as his eyes lay on the photo perched up against a plan on the side table, here it was another instance of fate or coincidence.

the golden maknae as he was labeled, graduation cap and gown and his twin raena dressed the same, both holding flowers and smiling like they've just been freed from prison.

memories flashed back to him and he searched to see if raena's bunny smile ever appeared in them but found nothing. the golden maknae however, he remembered, he spoke to him, he laughed with him a couple times. he was jeongguk. a freshman while they were seniors but still talented enough that it caught the group's eye. always lingering, always curious. he was suddenly hit with a pang of guilt. whatever happened to him?
