Sleep well my love

New chapter!

I tried but I think there's still some mistakes left, but at least by writing I'm improving my English and learning new words!

She couldn't sleep.

Pidge tried her best to take on projects she still hadn't finished, but had given up on being too bored to finish. Didn't work. She tried looking for more information on her dad and Matt. She ended up on the verge of tears from frustration at the lack of answers. She tried working on updates for Green, but she can't concentrate.

At this point, anyone would just call it a night and go to sleep, but not Katie, she just can't.

Every time she tries to close her eyes, nightmares haunt and submerge her. She dreams about finding her brother and father already dead, that when she finally comes back home, her mom hates her and refuses to forgive her.

She dreams that because of a stupid mistake she makes, her friends die on a mission and her lion ultimately rejects her because of her incompetence.

But she's just so tired, how she wishes she could fall asleep easily like Lance or Hunk.

She wished she was at home, watching a movie with her family, all cuddled up in blankets and happily laughing at some stupid joke.

But she's not, since the universe apparently hates her.

Pidge isn't even sure if one day, she will go back to these simpler days.

Probably not. There's no way she can continue her life normally after everything that happened.

None of them can.

She doesn't know if she will ever be Katie again. Genius daughter of Sam and Colleen Holt, adored little sister of Matt Holt. That girl with curious eyes, who only wants to learn more about the world.

She misses her mom, her dad, her brother and her dog.

But most of all, she misses herself.

She feels herself tearing up.

Keith can't sleep either. It's just one of those nights, when the only thing on his mind is how far he is from home. Well... sometimes he wonders if earth is really his home. After all, all the people he cares for are here, with him, in space.

He never told the others that he feels this way, he knows how much they all miss their home planet.

Thinking of his teammates, Keith wonders if Pidge, their residential night owl, is still awake. She must be and it definitely wouldn't hurt to go check on her.

As he gets closer to Green's hangar -one of her favourite places to be in general - he thinks he hears what sounds like someone crying. He picks up his pace. Sure enough, under the workbench, the girl whose entire amazing being who has taken over his heart is there. Her head between her knees and no one could miss how her shoulders are shaking.

He carefully makes his way over, "Pidge, is everything ok?" The sound of his own voice surprised him, never before had it been so so. Still, she didn't give him any hint that she heard him.

"I'm here if you want to talk, or some company, I won't force you to say anything." Nothing. He carefully knelt down in front of her and tenderly put his roughed up hands from hours of training and battles on her so cheeks covered in freckles.
