His purple eyes stared into her auburn ones. They could both feel it. The words were on the tips of their tongues.

Pidge looked at him and hesitated before putting her hand in the one he offered her. "I'm telling you, I can't dance at all. I'll probably step on your feet."

Chuckling, Keith led them on the dance floor and wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her closer to him. "It's fine, just follow my lead. Coran showed the other guys and I the basics. Put your arms around my neck."

She did as she was told, feeling a blush crept on her face. They have been close many times before, but this felt more intimate than all of these nights spent sleeping in the same bed.

They slowly started swaying to the beat of the music. More than once, Keith had to tighten his hold on the girl when she was about to fall. This meant that they were now closer. Both trying to calm down their beating heart, scared their dance partner could feel it.

All the songs were in different languages since Lance had the idea of making a playlist with music from different planets. Even if they couldn't understand the lyrics, this moment felt so romantic.

When Keith felt eyes on them, he tore his gaze away from this beautiful girl, only to find Lance and Hunk making kissy faces at him. Hugh, good thing Pidge couldn't see them. The grins on their face made him want to punch them. Thankfully, the warmth from Pidge's body calmed him down.

Somewhere else, he saw Matt and Shiro looking their way, smiling softly at them. He took a big breath when he heard a gasp coming from Pidge as another song started.

Even if she already had all of his attention. Pidge started tugging on his shirt. "Keith, I love this song!"

This time, it was an older song in english. "You know, it was the song my parents danced on during their wedding." Keith looked fondly at her before realizing he should probably respond. "That's great, I think I heard it somewhere before." "That wouldn't be surprising, they're both popular singers."

Then afterwards we drop into a quiet little place
And have a drink or two
And then I go and spoil it all
By saying somethin' stupid like, "I love you"

As they danced, the green paladin softly hummed the lyrics, looking completely relaxed, a pleasant smile plastered on her face. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Matt gesturing at him, urging him to confess. He held her tighter.

At this moment, nothing else existed but them. The ballroom was empty, all the sounds of the other guests talking were no longer present. All they could hear were the lyrics and their beating heart.
