Hindu Religious Lexicon
1. Epithet Mohan: Bhagwaan Krishna, like other deities in Hindu culture, has many attributes and epithets. One such epithet [name] is 'Mohan', which means the supreme enchanter. One who can defeat the attraction of thousands of Cupids.
2. Shok Kriya: Shok means mourning and Kriya means ritual. In many Hindu communities, a one year of mourning period is observed by family members of the deceased, during which they do not celebrate any religious festival.
Around early March of 2000, Kartik passed away, so Goenkas were following this kriya.
This will be the first event after a long time where they'll celebrate again.
3. Holika: A bonfire ritual that practiced the night before Holi. It is a symbolism of victory of good over evil as it is lit to celebrate the burning of the demoness, Holika.
Dehen means burning. So, Holika Dehen means burning Holika.
Note: This chapter will create a core memory for our lead character... who in the show was very private about her affections.
