Song / Cultural glossary:

1. Biraj / Brij: Vrajbhoomi, Vrindavan where Shree Krishna resided in his adolescence.

This was also the place where Radhika and her Kanhaiyya would play Holi.

2. Rasiya: The term rasiya is the Hindi word for one who takes pleasure in his pursuits.  It is also an "epicure" which refers to the male suitors, or Bhagwaan Krishna himself as depicted in songs.

3. Parkour:  Parkour is an athletic training discipline or sport in which practitioners attempt to get from point A to point B in the fastest and most efficient way possible.

Note: This chapter has multiple characters interacting and participating in a jugalbandi of sorts. So I hope you are able to follow through the lyrics and song and enjoy my attempt at creating a cinematic scene.

The song lyrics used and their singers have been highlighted below in the form of images.

[D-Day Holi]

The vibrant palette of Holi painted a portrait of unity, love and beauty all in perfect harmony.

A kaleidoscope of colors embraced the once sterile houses, breathing vibrancy into their very essence on this joyous celebration.

All diffracted and originating from a singular hue.

White

Just like their clothes, where each member in both families was embellished in white traditional garments for the early morning festivities and puja.

Except Anand, whose professional doctor's coat was a fair substitute instead.

Red

... like the vermillion adorning the parting of the four women in the households.

Swarna, running away from her husband's advances, adamant in feeding her his half baked and butchered lump of a gujjiya.

Surekha, drying her freshly manicured red nails... relishing in the haircare her partner was providing her.

Mahima, draping the white pristine saree around her, with the help of the other, Manjari, as they got ready for the second day of their eventful Holi conference party.
