You answer the door when the doorbell sounds. You smile when you see Kenma. "Hey, Kenma."

He smiles at you. "Hey, Y/n. You look great in that kimono. Are you ready to go to the festival?"

You nod. "You also look great in that yukata." You walk out of the house, closing the door behind you.

"Thanks. My mom suggested that I wear one to the festival. I was originally planning to just wear a hoodie and sweatpants, but the moment my mom heard I was bringing someone else with me, she made me wear this."

"It suits you. I think she made the right call."

Kenma looks over at you. "You think so?"

You nod. "I probably would've agreed with her. You do look really good in a yukata. And it's the first time I've seen you in one."

His cheeks flush a light pink color. "Thanks. I don't really wear yukata anymore. I used to wear them more often as a child, mainly because my mom would pick out my outfits."

"Well, she has great tastes. I must thank her for being able to see you like this."

He gave a faint smile. "You could meet her today, if you'd like, since we'll be by my house today."

"I'd love to meet her."

Kenma's smile stretched wider. "I think she'd like to meet you, too."

You two kept walking side by side, sometimes lightly brushing up against each other. When you arrived at Kenma's house, he stopped, causing you to pause as well.

He looked at his house. "Come here, you can meet my mom before we go."

You nod, following him into the house. "Ok. Is she nice?"

"I'd say she is. I think she'll like you." He leads you into his house. "Mom. I have someone that would like to meet you."

A woman that looked a little like Kenma walked into the room, a smile plastered on her face. "Oh, hello. How are you, dear?"

You give her a shy smile. "I'm good, how about you?"

"I'm doing good myself. It's so nice to meet someone Kenma decided to spend some time with."

"Nice to meet you too."

"What's your name, dear."

You fidget with your fingers, feeling slightly nervous. "L/n Y/n, ma'am."

"Well, Y/n-chan, it's very nice to meet you. Why don't you and Kenma run off and have fun at the festival. You can always come back and stay for dinner."

You give her a bigger smile. "I'd like that. Thank you. ma'am."

Kenma leads you back outside, walking you to the festival. "She seems to like you. She rarely invites someone she just met to stay for dinner."

"It might've helped that we're friends and you personally brought me over."

He shrugs. "Maybe. I don't usually bring people over. Usually if someone wants to hangout with me, they show up at my house and ask my parents if it's ok for me to leave the house."

"I see. I didn't need to do that."

"No. I was the one that asked you to come over. I thought you might like this festival."

You smile at him. "I haven't been to a festival in a long time. This should be fun. I always liked festivals."

"Really?"

You nod. "They're so fun. And the food is really good too."

Kenma agrees. "It is. I usually like the takoyaki and taiyaki stands."
