Sometimes Daphne wished the gods would hurry up and claim all their unclaimed kids. The state of the Cabin Eleven was something that infuriated her every morning.

If she had to describe it in one word it'd be: messy. And it was.

Clothes were thrown everywhere, make up placed on every surface area possible, prank stuff covered the floors along with random people's possessions.

Daphne couldn't say she was surprised by the mess, after all of the unclaimed demigods were shoved in the cabin due to Hermes domain.

Though Daphne herself wasn't unclaimed, she was a daughter of Hermes, who was the god of thieves, travel and a bunch of other stuff.

When she arrived at Camp Halfblood, at the age of nine just after her mother died, her father took his sweet time to claim her.

After four months of being there she received a rather unenthusiastic claiming during dinner.

She wasn't very happy that her father barely acknowledged her but she had to remind herself that many other campers had been waiting years.

"Morning Luke." Daphne greeted the boy who had just woken up.

Luke Castallan was the head counsellor of Cabin Eleven and was Daphnes half brother. The moment she arrived at Camp Luke had taken her under his wing and taught her everything she needed to know.

"Morning Daph, why are you up and dressed already?"

Daphne shrugged, most campers in the cabin were still asleep and Daphne was not usually a morning person - often complaining that she had to even be awake for breakfast.

Yet this morning, she was completely ready. Her brunette hair was braided (done so by Silena from Aphrodite cabin) and she had on her obnoxious camp orange T-shirt paired with denim shorts.

"Connor was snoring too loud, or it might've been Travis." She thought for a moment. "Don't know, don't care. Somebody was snoring too loud and woke me up."

Connor and Travis Stoll, also sons of Hermes, the pair were constantly mistaken for twins but they were brothers. They looked nearly identical, however.

Travis was the oldest but in Daphnes opinion they both acted like they were five years old. They were the pranksters of camp and often dragged Daphne to help them.

Luke chuckled quietly, as to not wake up the rest of the sleeping campers. "You've got ages until breakfast."

"I know," the thirteen year old said, "I'm going to find my friends."

Then, without another word she carefully stepped over sleeping campers and left the cabin.

As Daphne stepped out of the messy cabin, she walked through the open grounds of camp, the cool morning air filling her cheeks.

She enjoyed the smell of fresh grass, the morning dew that coated it, and the faint smell of nature. It was like an escape into the beauty of the world.

As she walked around camp, she passed by many familiar faces, many of whom she knew by name.

There was no sense of urgency in her steps, and she took her time. However, when the smell of strawberries called to her, she found herself walking in their direction.

The Strawberry fields were a place where the children of Demeter and Dionysus could often be found.

The camp grew strawberries and then shipped them off into the city of New York. It was like an undercover business and it was great for Daphne and her friends (including Travis and Connor) who constantly snook in the van to go into the city.
