Daphne woke up early the next morning, for two reasons: one, she had to plan a way to get out of camp to sneak onto the ongoing quest and two, she had to inform Luke of what was happening.
Now, Silena (Valentina's half sister - daughter of Aphrodite) and Daphne were both Camp spies.
However, Daphne mainly kept Luke up to date with missions and quests whereas Silena gave him inside scoop and strategies.
Though together they told Luke everything. As a result of this, the pair did become a lot closer.
Now, the daughters of Aphrodite and Hermes walked around in the Camp's forest - a place that was highly dangerous if you travelled deep enough.
Daphne remembered Percy's account of what had happened when Luke's thievery was revealed. According to Percy, he had tried to recruit him and then allegedly tried to kill him.
The summer after that incident, Daphne had gotten Luke's account of it all; the girl understood his motives.
Daphne wasn't a monster. She forced Luke into promising that all her friends would be unharmed, she only wanted to hurt the Olympians - primarily her father.
"What time are we calling him?" Silena asked, using her fingers to give her hair volume.
Daphne wasn't a daughter of Aphrodite and she wasn't her best formed, Valentina so she didn't have a love sensor.
But, she did have a high suspicion that Silena had a crush on her older brother. She wondered if that was why Silena so easily agreed to help his cause.
Daphne looked at the time on her watch, it was far too early and she should've been in bed like her brothers and Nico.
But she wasn't. Daphne was stood in the middle of the forest, praying and hoping nobody in Cabin Eleven woke up before she returned.
The girl didn't want to have to make up an unnecessary story to tell Travis or Connor.
"Give it another minute or so." Daphne told her, knowing that if they called him at the wrong time it could ruin everything.
If Luke was in the presence of Artemis (the goddess he had kidnapped) and Annabeth soon the whole Camp would find out about Daphne and Silena's switching of the sides.
They'd be labelled traitors, which of course wasn't wrong but it didn't make the thought of it any less hurtful.
Daphne didn't want to be labelled as a traitor. She didn't want her friends to think so lowly of her.
After a minute, Daphne watching her watch intensely to make sure, she pressed her charm and a few moments after the hologram of Luke showed up.
The hologram popped up in front of Luke, and he was immediately alerted by the time. He'd agreed on a later time with Daphne, and that only meant one thing.
She was going on her quest.
"Everything going on plan?" Luke asked, the same grin on his face, except this time it didn't seem genuine.
Daphne looked at her brother suspiciously, he always seemed so in genuine for reasons Daphne couldn't think of.
She looked at Silena, who was gauging at Luke, before nodding. "Yeah," her voice was exhausted, encouraged by the lack of sleep she had gotten. "They're heading out this morning. Though I'm going to have to sneak onto it since i technically wasn't 'invited'. Well I was but anyway long story. I'll be on it."
Luke's eyebrow raised as his sister spoke.
"Not technically invited, but you still managed to find a way to go?" He paused for a moment, it didn't make much sense to him. In the end, he shook his head. "Doesn't matter. Are you sure that you'll be fine doing something of this scale? Sneaking into a quest doesn't seem terribly safe."
