42: A Bridge Too Far

Day 23:

The following day, the uphill got more pronounced. 

Shine began to get tired. She wasn't used to this much cardio.

Bakugo kind of made fun of her for slowing down.

"Can jump through reality but you're having trouble climbing a hill?" he scoffed. "We do this kind of thing every day."

"I'd like to see you portal everyday," Shine said. "And if you keep talking like that to me, I'll send you back a few miles and you can catch up to us."

Bakugo sped up right away.

"That's right, put him in his place," Suigetsu said, he was tired of Bakugo saying that he was going too freaking slow.

Of course, Temari was saying that too, but Suigetsu didn't dare complain about her.

"Shut up, you talking puddle," Bakugo said.

"Ah well," Shine patted Bakugo's head as he'd finally stopped walking long enough for her to pass him. "I suppose Bakugo will not let me slack off. Of course if you really want me to go fast, you'd help me carry some of this. If you had 5 pounds of books in your bag, you'd finally be slower too."

"If it'll speed things up, I'll take one or two," Bakugo said very begrudgingly. "But only because you're such a wimp."

"I think the word you're looking for is delicate and ladylike," Shine said. "Can't build up too many msul you know, it's not feminine."

Camie started to laugh. "What kind of crap is that? Do people really still think that's where you live?"

"Nah, I'm just messing with you," Shine laughed, too. "I had you for a second, didn't I?" Smirking at Bakugo.

"You can't expect her to be as fast as us anyway," Shoto  ei Bakugo, since he never liked anyone ragging on girls. "We're built differently, literally."

"Well, West isn't, and he's faster than us," Bakugo said.

"But the Speed thing makes me stronger and faster effortlessly," Wally said. "Not that I don't work out, too. I mean, I gotta look the part. No one wants to be saved by a guy with flabby muscles." he made a show of flexing.

"Being 6 foot isn't scary enough?" Dabi commented.

"Yeah, you're huge," Tenten said. "It's not natural."

"I forget how short you guys usually are," Wally said. "I guess I got used to the hero kids being short...except for Shoji."

"Shoto isn't that short," Shine tapped his head too, making him look a little embarrassed.

"He's about the same height as you," Camie said. "But you're like a goddess for a girl in our country. You're like a model."

"Thanks, Camie," Shine smiled. "But I probably don't have the style for it."

"I like your clothes," Momo said.

"Oh, it's not that," Shine said. "I couldn't wear the stuff those ladies wear...I'd never be able to go out in public like that."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Ino said. "But it doesn't sound respectable."

"Bae, if you help Shine with her stuff, will you carry mine too?" Camie asked Bakugo.

"Freaking no, carry your own stuff," Bakugo said.

"So what I'm not good enough for that?" Camie replied.
