Day 7:

"Today marks the full week of our mission," Temari noted the next morning when they were trying to make breakfast.

"And it would have to rain today," Kankuro grumbled.

A storm had blown up over night and was pouring rain outside.

"Well, it's Mist Village. It rains a lot," Karin observed, unnecessarily.

On top of the rain there had been heavy fog all morning, and it was so dark in the house that it was like twilight. The electric lighting the shinobi had was not very strong, and the storm knocked out the power right after breakfast.

Since even the Mist shinobi would only go out in this weather if they had to, no one would be working today or visiting Mei probably.

Shine said that it was good to have a day of rest, and it was appropriate it was on the 7th day. Perhaps it was a sign from God.

"A sign that you all are making us work too much," Suigetsu suggested. "I could get behind that sign."

"But I'm bored," Naruto grumbled. "Can't we go out?"

"Naruto," Sakura said, annoyed, "in this fog we'd get lost! We're not used to it like they are. And you would probably walk right off the edge of the dock and into the water."

"It's not so bad." Hinata tried to be cheerful. "There must be something we can do."

"Read." Dabi had his book. "My new favorite pastime. So much better than doing anything interesting."

"Being a scholar is an honorable profession," Shine said lazily, turning her own book.

Momo had made a battery operated lamp so she could see better--and it was much brighter than the ones in the house anyway.

She was doing a 3D puzzle.

"Hey, guys," Camie said, "if you're bored, I did bring some card games. I thought this would happen."

She pulled out a bag from her suitcase and brought it downstairs.

"You brought makeup, card games, and a hat, but you forgot a hairbrush during the war," Bakugo said.

"You forgot to bring hot sauce," Camie shot back.

"I didn't forget it--there wasn't room in the d--- bag," Bakugo said.

"Who packs hot sauce?" Dabi said.

"Someone who has to cook for himself along the road," Wally said. "I mean kudos to Bakugo for that. I'd just bring sugar packets... Literally, I did that."

"Anyone want to play Uno?" Camie asked. "It's really easy."

"A card game?" Tenten looked up. "I guess I could give it a try. Nothing else to do." She had sharpened her weapons for the past hour.

Camie reeled Sai and Ino in also.

Sakura was persuaded to join them mostly because she didn't like to be left out. And Naruto and Hinata.

Finally, Kankuro caved.

Temari said she wouldn't play, but she was watching.

Shikamaru declined when he heard it was easy. He said he'd be bored.

"What did you want to play?" Temari asked him.

"I like Shoji," Shikamaru said.

"That's the only thing you ever play," Ino said. "I played it one time, and once was enough. He's the worst opponent ever. He just sits there and stares at the board. I never got even close to winning."
