Cooler perked up at the news Salza had given him.

"What? My brother, killed by a Saiyan?" he scoffed. "Impossible. How could a Saiyan generate enough power to destroy Frieza?"

"It happened, my lord!" Neiz reinforced the claim. "The Saiyan is living on Earth! He left Vegeta right before Lord Frieza blew it up!"

Cooler narrowed his eyes. "I never did like him. And now he goes and disgraces my father and I, by getting killed by a Saiyan."

Cooler grit his teeth. It served Frieza right. He had been born with his great power, unlike himself. He never had to claw and fight for what was his, it was always handed to him. That's why their father preferred him over the two of them. Not because he had earned his strength, not because of his hard work, because he had gotten lucky. Well, it looked like his luck had finally run out. Good riddance.

"Father always spoiled you rotten, you little brat!" he spat to his late brother, before preparing to stand. "Salza, prepare the ship for departure!"

Salza said nothing, simply raising his hand in a salute.

Doore spoke up, with a proud nod. "Yes, sire! Let's show this 'Super Saiyan' what for!"

Right then. That's where the Divergence in this timeline happened. While it was likely implied, no one had actively said that phrase yet.

'Super Saiyan'. It was one that resonated with Cooler. He remembered long ago when his father, King Cold, and him were still on speaking terms. He had warned him of those he should never challenge. Majin Buu. Beerus the Destroyer. And, of course, a warning of a prophecy; The Super Saiyan of Legend.

Cooler thought to himself, if this 'Super Saiyan' was on the level of the likes of Majin Buu or Beerus the Destroyer... He couldn't afford to not take this threat seriously.

With that, Cooler spoke back up, sitting back on this throne.

"As a matter of fact... Belay that order."

Salza stopped, turning towards Cooler in a parade-rest like manner.

"You three. Leave this planet." Cooler commanded. "I am to be left undisturbed here. I need to concentrate on how to best handle this 'Super Saiyan'. Continue operations as usual, but do not go anywhere near Earth's Solar System. Understood?"

All three of Cooler's soldiers took a knee, before shouting in return. "Sir, yes, sir!"

With this, all three men entered the ship, which quickly flew off, leaving the Frost Demon alone. Finally taking a stand, Cooler let out a massive scream, his aura crackling as his body bulked, within seconds transforming into his Fifth form.

He stared at his hands, before examining the rest of his body.

He had previously thought to himself that this power would be enough to destroy anyone, even his own brother if he stepped out of line. But to take on a Super Saiyan?

No...

No, this wouldn't be enough...

He needed to train his body further, to new heights. Heights high enough that not even the great Majin Buu could trample over. A power to even rival Beerus the Destroyer. A power to put this Awoken Super Saiyan Legend to rest. Permanently.

With a powerful goal in mind, Cooler would do just this. He spent several years subjecting himself to the most arduous training he had ever done, until one day, something finally snapped, something inside him. Something that would spell the end of his problems for him, and for this timeline, the end of peace for the galaxy.
