What if the Saiyans Listened to Bardock?

"Hahahahaha! Well, well! Now that is beautiful!" Frieza roared with laughter. "See? Look, Dodoria, Zarbon! Look at the fireworks! Aren't they splendid? Hahahahaha!"

Bardock's head burned as the same vision played again and again, the vision of Frieza's delight... at the destruction of Planet Vegeta.

Stumbling over, Bardock grit his teeth, before standing back up with a scream of pure vigor.

"I'm not going crazy! It is the future!" He mumbled to himself, as he continued to make his way to the dining area, forced to lean on the walls so he wouldn't faceplant. "I've got to let the others know... If I'm able to see the future, there might be a chance to change it."

Using every ounce of strength he had, Bardock stepped into the dining area, full of rowdy Saiyans. Yes! If at least one of them would listen... there might be a chance of them stopping Frieza. There might be a chance for all of them to survive!

Moving his hand to lean onto a table, instead of the wall, Bardock raised his voice, only for the table to topple over, with Bardock quickly following.

"Bardock, what's wrong?" the Saiyan who was sitting at the table asked, while some other Saiyans simply laughed.

Bardock ignored them, instead picking himself up, and delivering his message. "Listen everybody. It's Frieza! He's coming for us!"

"...'Us'?" one of the Saiyans responded. "You mean 'you', right?"

"No... 'Us'. You. Me. Everyone here. It's true. He's scared of us. He wants us all dead!" Bardock replied, his arms slumped as he spoke and stood with his willpower alone allowing it. "My whole crew is dead thanks to that freak!"

"Bardock gets his tail whipped and it's the end of the world, right?" another Saiyan heckled, before laughing boorishly, the rest of the Saiyans joining in.

"Maybe you goons should stop pretending to be elites!" another taunted.

"No kidding, Bardock! Welcome to the real world, buddy-boy!" yet another mocked.

"Hurts, don't it?" another goaded.

As the insults continued and the laughter only got rowdier, Bardock scoffed.

Of course he couldn't rely on these idiots...

Bardock picked himself up, doing his best to stand up straight, only to slump downwards again. Gritting his teeth, he pushed himself to stand up straight... until he felt someone grab his arm and wrap it over their shoulder, helping him stand properly.

"I heard what happened to your crew... I'm sorry..." the Saiyan spoke up.

This Saiyan's choice was where the Divergence happened. In the timeline you know this Saiyan, named Ruta, heard Bardock's message and felt pity for him, knowing of what happened to his crew. Despite this, she would do nothing, and the result is one you already know of. But in this timeline, something changed, something special happened.

Instead of standing idly, Ruta stood with Bardock, and lent him a hand. That single gesture would spell an entirely different outcome, for not only Bardock, but the rest of the universe.

As if to help him get away from the obnoxious laughter and mockery, Ruta guided him back into the hallway, where she spoke back up.

"Look... Don't get the wrong idea... It's just..." Ruta sighed softly. "I just got a little one, barely even a week old... If you're sure about what you're saying... and you know how to save us all... tell me how I can help."
